Some Humor - Some people really need a vacation

This was regarding me wanting a refund I wanted for a VPS I didn't get to use.

My support ticket went something like this :

Me:

Hiya, My current host ********* suggests that I use another hosting company because the software I'm using has a list of requirements. I would like to cancel an dget a refund.
 Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for contacting our Sales Department.

I am afraid we are not able to issue a refund, because according to our Terms of Service VPS is not refundable. Please note that in case you do not want to use the service anymore you will have to cancel the recurring contract that was created when you signed up for our services. You can cancel the recurring contract from your hosting control panel > My Account > Billing Manager > Recurring.

If you need further assistance or have questions, just let us know.

Best Regards

Hello,

It is true that you purchased the service a couple of hours ago, but according to our Terms, that you agreed with, the service is non-refundable. You can see the link of Terms & Conditions on the index page of our website. If you go there you will see the following regarding VPS refunds and cancellation:

'The VPS accounts are set up on a monthly prepay basis. Customers may cancel their accounts at any time, however they will not be entitled to a refund for the unused period of the prepaid month, since these services do NOT include Money Back Guarantee. Any incentives offered to the Customers upon sign-up will be also canceled.'

If you need further assistance or have questions, just let us know.

Best Regards,

I soon found the flaw in they're thinking.

Me:

That only applies to unused periods, I'd like a refund for the time that I have used it.
 Thanks,

Hello,

Thank you for contacting our Sales Department.

I am afraid we are not able to provide you with a refund for the used period for two reasons - first, there is no such thing as refund for used period and, second, there is no money back guarantee to be applied for the used period.

If you need further assistance or have questions, just let us know.

Best Regards,

Always look at service, restirctions and TOS/TOU before moving forward with a host.  Not sure if your host charge a setup fee (most likely not) but they should compensate you somewhat on service not used (not saying all, but something. unless you take the CheapO package).  With todays instant streaming of feedback/reviews on a company/website, businesses need to relize eating a few dollars will reflect in the long-run.  Of course employees are instructed to refuse refunds and abide or direct client to TOU/TOS but the ones that give a little will be around for the long-run.. That leaves out Godaddy...

Live life a little and enjoy...

Just my thought.
