How stupid!!!

Not very popular according to Alexa statistics (~9M).  I check two of my small sites and their ranking (~3M each) is so much lower that I have to wonder about the popularity of the site you're selling.  What makes it worth considering purchasing?

"Over 90 million members active each day" says the about us. That's got to be a serious load on the server if all 90 million login at the same time. No?

This is a little off topic but is anyone else surprised by the number of people who will post nude photos on a site that uses your full name and has them so even nonmembers can see them?

I don't believe the "Over 90 million members active each day" claim... certainly not with an Alexa rating of ~9 million.  I imagine it would take a very well organized network including many web and database servers to deal with that kind of load.  To put it in perspective, Facebook has an Alexa ranking of 2 and claims about 900 million people log in each day... and I can't even begin to imagine the complexity of their global network of super-fast, highly redundant, web and database servers.

 Certainly not. It is an absolutely preposterous claim. If it were true, there'd be no need to advertise the site for sale here, Facebook, itself, Google, MSN, or some big outfit would be beating down the guy's door to try and buy the site from him. 

Maybe the "90 million" claim made me cynical about the whole thing, but in answer to MScott's question "...surprised by the number of people who will post nude photos on a site that uses your full name.." I strongly suspect that the actual people in the photos not only have nothing to do with the posted names, but most likely, have no idea that their photos are being displayed there.

Maybe the site owner is being sued for one/some of those nude photos linked to full names and is selling the site to minimize his legal "exposure" (pun intended).

Alexa rank is very inaccurate. It relies on visitors having the alexa toolbar installed. My rank for http://www.deanbassett.com is 1.6M, and that is for a site that is used mostly for demo of my mods. It's not really a social site that gets a lot of traffic.

You could get millions of daily visitors, but if only a tiny fraction of them have the alexa toolbar installed, then rank will be poor. So it's just plain unreliable.

@Deano... of course its always better to look at a reliable source.  Since you didn't mention any maybe none came to mind.  How about Google PageRank (yes, I know it's been phased out) or SEOmoz?  How about something simple like the number of external links to the site?  Should we consider all of them unreliable and therefore deem them to have little value?  How about money and time invested to build and maintain the site compared to money earned by the site?  But then you could say that not all sites are created to earn money so we'd have to revise that.  How about... does the site accomplish what the designer (or owner) intended and will it continue to do the same for whomever might purchase it?  That seems reasonable... can we agree on that?

I think the biggest thing is how old the domain is there.. I have noticed after a yaer it picks up pretty good.. Foe the longest time my site was only worth a couple hundred. Then I hit the year mark and a lot of google+, facebook, and twitter post and now my site is in the lower tens of thousands.. LOL...

Why are we selling?

I haven't worked on the site for years and want to sell to someone who will give it a (very feasible) traffic boost. and  It's very active be aware to have a fast and powerful server to handle it.

 I blocked all countries for over 6 months  it was too active for me, I kept changing server to handle the traffic so I did not care much about Alexa statistics anymore. All I wanted and still want is to sell it to someone that can and will make it more active. I put the first stone!!! all the members on the site are real...

 I used to pay hostforweb over $449.95 USD monthly for over two years. The server was still too small to handle the traffic with so many members using flashcoms chat system and so on....  

I did not want to keep paying that much anymore  so I deleted more than 60,000 members and still delete anyone that take a day to upload pics on their profile.

 Listen! I don't mind to delete all the members I did that more than 5 time over the years so I could  use a small server I could pay... If someone think it can make it a Vive Star.. then it is for sale... That's all...

 These result are not real. I used to have a site call branchlove before I've changed the name to vivestar that site worth over $300,0000 .. lollll so relax!
