So no beta D7 release as of june 20th?

There are a number of blogs, forum discussion posts here and facebook but all so vague and still no final release date info, though the June 20th was a celebration date of release.

.

We all know what happened to that date = it came and it passed, no beta release no celebration.

Ugh, that was fun.

.

I've been away for over a month, so should I just go slumber for another month while my bank account is depleted paying out hosting and other fees while I cant proceed?

.

Does anyone know anything at all about a possible workable beta release date?

.

Thanks for any and all responses, that's for the peeps in the know.

.

P.S. sarcasm intended, just so sick of waiting and spending

Alex has now promised July 8th as a definitive deadline for a Feature Final Beta. Two weeks sounds about right for weeding out the obvious and overflowing bugs, though it may not be enough to get all functionality working as intended. Let's see how the team can crunch, and what surprises we meet over the coming week or two.

On another note, it remains to be seen whether the FF Beta will actually have everything that's being expected for D7. If there aren't any surprises coming in, some of the modules on D7 don't seem to offer too much new since Dolphin 6 — and many D6 modules are still pretty slim in terms of functionality.

Granted, there are tons of new code in the system from D6 to D7. In fact, there's a huge amount of code! Some 7 odd megabytes in over 1000 code files, and another 500 files and 1 MB more in templates. No wonder there are issues with taming the new Dolphin, you'd expect some with such copious amounts of code to deal with!

I think it will be several months until D7 will be ready. I'm fine with that. Boonex needs to do this one right so they should take their time.

I would like to see 617 that will fix some of the issues from previous versions.
