SAN FRANCISCO — Facebook has dangled more than $3 billion in cash to woo Snapchat, the popular photo-messaging used by younger audiences, amid growing signs of waning interest among teens in the world's largest social network.

The Los Angeles-based company, founded by 23-year-old Evan Spiegel, recently turned down the offer because it's currently being courted by multiple investors, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Seems chatting is bigger than I thought.

The name "SnapChat" is a bit misleading. It is almost exclusively used to share/send photos. What makes it different is that the photos self-destruct after a short time so it has become hugely popular with middle- school and high school kids for sharing nude photos of themselves and other photos they don't want to have floating around the internet. Parents - if you have a kid using Snapchat, you might want to do your best to monitor what they are sending and viewing with it.

Yes, that age group has shown to have become increasingly stupid over the years.  Once a photo is up on the net, it is easily copied and downloaded and reupped and so on.

Myspace

is where all the artist "stayed," it's actually back to what they intended, an artist/professional site for music. IMO
