Site Customizer - Do you use it? Experiences?

What are your experiences with the sitze customizer module? Do your users uses it?

What has to be modified, that  the module is even active in selfmade templates, (based on EVO template)?

I used it once but ended up doing it myself with CSS. Geek_Girl commented on it some time ago if I recall, maybe in a blog post.

If you allow members to design their own profile templates, you risk destroying your site because of shocking colour schemes and hodge-podge layouts. 

I think mrtn was referring to the module for changing the over all site template and not the profile customiser module.  I do allow users to make changes to their pages but I have added a loot of css to the list over the basic list that the profile customiser module includes.  I haven't used the site customiser module instead creating my own template.
