Single vs Couple Advice

Just starting to develop a site that uses Dolphin 6x. Has any moderators had questions on when a user signs up and is married but wants to have their own profile? The confussion is "Do I choose single..because i am not single". I want to use this application but I don't want to run a dating service. I have a explanation that tells the difference of each profile type but the laymens still don't get it and see it for what it says. Is there a way to change the profile type name to saaaay "individual profile" or "dual profile"? Thanks for any advice

If you need real answers on any topic I suggest you try modmysite.com

You really are wasting your time on these forums.

If you try to seek an answer in the answers section, or blogs, they shoot you down

in flames for posting in the wrong place.

You pay your money and thats it, it seems.....

Its like a takeaway, you either love it or hate it, which is sad because all this site needs is

some structure that is moderated with a vengence.

A proper filing of complaints and or problem resolution.

I would find these forums as funny as hell, if they werent so darn frustrating.

Shocking service., could become amazing community if they would just focus on the important stuff.

There are way too many dating site concepts built into dolphin.  You might just want to get rid of that 'Profile type' on the join page alltogether.  Personally, I think it's a bit strange when someone joins a website, of any type, as a couple.  For some reason, I think its a little creepy.

.

Anyways, if you want to just get rid of the profile type on your join page, login as admin at yoursite.com/admin then go to Builders > Fields Builder.  Then just drag all the useless items such as 'Profile Type' and 'Couple' to the Inactive Blocks area.  There's some other useless stuff you drag to the Inactive Block area, such as 'Headline', and  'Looking For'.

.

Of course, if you just want to change the names 'Couple' and 'Single' to something else, the Fields Builder is where you would do it.... Just click on the blocks and change the 'Name' field.

.

Hope this heps you out.

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

Thanks guys.

I agree...joining as a couple is definatley on the "different" side.  I just joined the fields yesterdayf.  That seems to work best

Hey candidcamera

I decided to leave mine as an option. The theory for me is have couples sign up with their own account, just to have a pic of your spouse on the other side of you. Or if you are dating you can just change the other half as needed. If I remember correctly it can be changed as needed.

New question for you guys, where is the file to change about us, privacy and faq to my own stuff?

Hi..  by now you've probably already found it, but to edit the About us and other biz faqs..

ACP--> Settings -->  Languages Settings

Search for string..  "about", you'll get a listfull of files, but one of them will be the current text displaying for the About link.   Do same for "faqs" and "terms", etc.

Welcome to dolphin-land!
