Single gendered leaders block please

Can we please get a single gendered leaders block. There is no rational reason to require that both male and female be shown on leaders if your site is geared towards one gender.  I know how to change the code to fix the issue but the leaders block should stay active if I uncheck all of one gender for it.

or how about no gender at all!  What does gender have to do with being a leader?
