Simple guide on how to install boonex

Hi has anyone got a simple guide or video guide on how to install boonex 7.1 . it does not look simple.

Actually its very simple.

It takes longer to upload the zip and create a database than it does to install it. Seriously only takes about 10 mintues to install.. moving slowly :)

I will see if I can find something.

I can type it faster than looking for it. Here is a 'very' simple guide for ya:

Download the D 7.1 zip file from the BoonEx (Bottom Right)

Login to your cPanel/Plesk and create a database and a database user with full rights (you will need to know the database name, user, and password)

Upload the zip file (using FTP client or cPanel) into the directory you wish to install dolphin

Go back to your cPanel > File Manager  and Navigate to the directory you uploaded the zip to

Click to highlight the zip file and then click the extract button.

Once done, go to http://www.yoursite.com/install and follow the steps.

Done

It's not really that hard. And there are two very good reasons to do it yourself.

1) Auto installers are not very reliable.

2) You learn more if you do it yourself. Basic things you should know if you want to run a dolphin site. If you use a auto installer you learn nothing.

There are more reasons, but those two are good enough reasons.

Good advice for you. If you can't install it, you are gonna have a hellova time trying to maintain it :)

Glancing at the the install tutorial can be somewhat overwhelming to newbies (no offense). If you have shell do this, if you have FTP, do it this way, if you have cPanel/Plesk do it this way instead...[PULLS HAIR] OMG!!

Thank God I have never really even looked at that Install instruction..

I mean really..

That sure makes it look a lot more complicated than it really is.  The only tedious part is all the permission changes, but there's a script in the market that automates most of that work.

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.
