Shouldn't past events be deleted when date has passed?

Why would someone want a database full of past events? I just noticed when I was on events homepage, an event was still showing, even though the date was 2 days ago. Is this how events are handled, you have to MANUALLY delete them from the database?

I swear to God, the more I get into this software, the more I think it was geared towards sites with less then 20 members.

The argument against automatically deleting past events, is that people that attended the event may want to post photos of the event.  Suppose the event is a 40 year class reunion, and the attendees took hundreds of photos.... where would they post them if the event is deleted?  On the other hand, keeping some past events would might make no sense at all... like anything to do with Democrats.  Better management of past events is what is needed... not automatically deleting them.

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

This is just one of those Dolphin things that makes me think there's a Boonex sense of logic that I'll never fully understand. The default setting is to keep events after they pass for 3 months but the default setting is to delete users and all of their data after they're inactive for 3 months.

Is there any way of hiding past events from the world map? This quirky problem is killing me.
