Should i run eCommerce on dolphin???

Hi! friends,

Hi have just purchased a domain "modmydolphin.com" for my mods site but i was thinking is it safe to run a ecommerce site on dolphin or does its store module fully support the digital goods store? Should i stick with my wordpress site because its running good and everything is working alright. Please help me decide.

Thanks :)

Hello

Yes, Dolphin's Store module was developed to sell digital content. You'll have different payment providers, shopping cart, order administration, cart history, downloading for purchased products, etc.

thanks for reply

if someone buy something than does it remember what a member buyed in history so when a update to a product is available i can easily find who to give this update?

The one limitation that I know of that might be an issue with Dolphin's store module is that only members of the site can purchase items. So in order to buy your item, they'll have to register for the site first, which I've found it to be an issue with offering items to the general public. People want the checkout process to be as simple and streamlined as possible.

Yes, you as seller can see who purchased the module in Order Administration. Also you may easily update the product attaching the update pack.

I have had several Dolphin sites setup to sell digital downloads.

Its very easy to do, although you have to tweak the page layouts to make it clear to customers how to download.

Upload a file to store and put the price on it.

Then once customers buy the file, the 'download' button will appear in the action box on the product page.

At first, quite a few customers didnt realise the dload button was appearing after purchase so were emailing asking for the dload link!

Just put the action box towards the top of the page so its clear,

I also put a html box on top of each page with easy instructions!

Also... might be good to add a clearer link to the customers shopping cart, place it in a HTML box as many customers dont know its located on the top menu!

Other than layout tweaking, it works fine though for digital dloads.
