Seriously?? I'm pretty upset here...

I paid for a full version of this software but such a simple feature is broken that makes my idea for my site unable to work. It's not JUST me who is upset about this.

Someone Else Says...

" Hello everyone, I cant believe this is still an issue, from all the other bugs this surely must be one of those that can easily be fixed or replaced with buttons instead of trying to highlight your mouse over the text and nothing get selected.

Disappointed."

Others posting about the SAME ISSUE...

The list could go on but you get the idea...

COME ON NOW! The multiple selector field completely fails. Even the stupid unprofessional CTRL-hold down method is broken because the search doesn't function with it. Why even have it there? It made me buy this product thinking it works and it DOESNT. This is a crucial basic functionality feature that should be focused on immediately.

I don't agree 100%, There are place for improvement and always will be. But the problem with multiple select field is not just here. Its a standard element of HTML and i don't think boonex can do something about a HTML element. There are workarounds with js for this if you try google and people need to learn things to get things working. You can learn then apply or  hire a dev. Its your choice. To add your custom fields in the search you need to add it in the BxBaseSearchProfile.php array.

'ownFields' => array('ID', 'NickName', 'NickName', 'Headline', 'DescriptionMe', 'Country', 'City', 'Tags', 'DateReg', 'DateOfBirth', 'Sex', 'Couple', 'CustomField'),

'searchFields' => array('NickName', 'Headline', 'DescriptionMe', 'City', 'Tags', 'CustomField'),

Good luck

so much to do....

It doesn't HAVE to be a multiple selector. There just needs to be a way to add multiple elements into an array and then have the search engine go through the array and make matches!

Like for example, a person should be able to select that they speak multiple languages like, english, spanish, and german. Then when someone searches english, spanish or german, their profile will show up. THAT'S IT.

I don't feel like I should have to program this simple element myself.

And no, the problem isn't that the multiple selector doesn't work in the search, it just doesn't work properly. The results come up incorrectly because only the first element is used.
