There are a couple things I want to switch around on my site.  Where can I get access to the script for my site so I can do some tweeking?

Your access is one your own server. Go to your cpanel and find the files you need there.

I dont own a server so my site is on someone elses server.  Does that mean I cant change things?  I was told I would be able to change whatever I wanted because I have a license and the script is open source.

What type of hosting do you have? Most come with a cpanel unless its a free one, then you wont be able to use this software on it If you have a cpanel, just log in and go to files. And if you are talking about blocks on your pages, you do that in your Dolphin Administration section in the page builder.

I don't know how a lack of cPanel means you cannot use Dolphin.

@OP: It appears someone is hosting your site for you on their hosting account (possibly shared if they didn't give you control panel information). As said above, most changes can be made through the administration panel, which you can find at http://yoursite.com/administration/. If you need to change actual files in script, you can ask whoever is hosting your site for you to provide you with FTP access.

Unless this is not the case and you are hosted with a company. In that case, what is their name?

If you would have read it right, I said if on a free site you do not get a cpanel, and you can not host Doplhin on a free site. I did not say you needed a cpanel to host Dolphin software..geezzz..Undecided

Apologies, I misread you. Even still, free hosting providers do come with some form of a control panel, and I do know that some of these providers use cPanel. You are correct that Dolphin isn't meant for free hosting packages. In some cases, it will run, but not very well.

OK, I am using BishBosh for hosting and using Dolphin software for my site.  I have a CPanel but dont see anywhere to access "files" or any other way to open and change the script.  I found the CSS FIle section but for each of the files, when I open them, it gives me a notice that the file is not writeable...

cPanel includes a file manager. On the front page of cPanel, there should be a list of available options. Look for the one reading as "file manager." Alternatively, you can access your files via FTP/SFTP.

Okay I went to your hosting site. Dang who are those folks kidding. They say they can host Dophin and have rms for 3.99 a month..You need to load up all your folders and go to a more honest host as I see no way you can run RMS on 3.99 a month with your hosting. If that was the case all those who have rms hosting are taking advantage of us poor people..lol What do you think DosDawg?Sealed Well you may be able to hook it up, but as far as having onsite members in the chats and ect.. well..lol

They also say you can have unlimited web cams. Now here is the catch...NOT TRUE  Never saw a host with RMS that allows unlimted usage...am I wrong people? Please folks remember, as others have warned on here, UNLIMTED does not exists! It's just a line they use to get your money.

Bishboshwebhosting seems to be another scam host. But that is just my opinion..lol Check it out if you don't believe me.

I am feeling really stupid the last few days (therefore I maybe reading this thread all wrong) but I do have a question.  How did you upload your files to your server?  Being that it is open source you can tweak your files on you local machine and upload them to the same place you uploaded your files to begin with.  If you are not sure how the files got on your server, you may want to seek outside help for tweaking.  I hope this doesn't come across as mean, I don't want it to.

I use my FTP program to upload files to my server. You can get one for free, just Google FTP client.

I found the area where the files are and I can open files to change the script but so far I cant find what I want to change because all the files have names I dont understand...    :(     Any idea what kind of name the main section of the start of the webpage might be  (just under the logo)?

With the layout, you want /templates/base/css

with the blocks you can move them or add to the content through your Dolphin Administration

go to http://yourdolphinsite/administration

Also below logo would be the promo block which can be edited in Administration section in the page builders.
