SSH command for upgrading RC Files

Hi, I have a VPS with root access. My FTP program is dumb when it comes to using ASCII or binary transfers for each specific files.

I only know basic SSH commands but just don't know the options for extracting RC3 files to overwrite RC2 files properly.

Will someone enlighten me the proper SSH command to upgrade the files properly?

It will be greatly appreciated and save me a lot of time and errors.

I did this via cpanel file manager. Didn't work out so I did this via FTP uploading using FileZilla FTP program. It was painfully show but at least it worked.

Would still love to know the basic SSH command for it though. I believe the build is fedora but ain't sure what it's on my web server but a command to tell me would help too.

Any key command I can use to press to stop the video recording?

Much like youtube's feature of pressing space bar to stop recording.
