Great link!  I cant decide if it is my template or Dolphin but SEO on my community site really sucks.  For example, if I were to do a search for my site, my tube section and blog come before my community and they are /blog and /tube.  Craziness.  Looks like I am going to have to break down and hire a SEO expert to rip apart my site.

there is a search function in the top menu of D7

what do you mean with tube and blog section before community?

have you got a url and more infos?

Sorry, I should have clearified.  I meant if I were to do a search in Google for my site, some of the parts of the site like the Wordpress blog and Tube site will show first.  They are separate systems and as such handle SEO in different ways, seemingly better than Dolphin.  I can provide examples but my site is adult in nature.  You can PM me if you want more info.

lol most of what matt says is crap... think about it.. .google doesn't want you to figure out seo... or you learn how to manipulate google's algorithm and rank high... which means you could then charge people a lot of money to do it for them... google doesn't want you to figure it out, they would prefer you spent your money on their Pay per click system.

1% of my Pay Per click traffic converts into sales (for me)

14% of google natural traffic converts into sales (for me)

He is right about one thing, content is king :) but you must know which content is king... :)    " GOD SAVE THE KING NOT THE QUEEN"

really funny the crap they will say... I often let them feed me the crap and then go through their crap bit by bit explaining why they are full of crap... hehe most of the time they get embarrassed and say sorry at the end of my rant...  I don't go easy on them because I don't like the idea of people cheating the small businesses out of their money. They destroy people's dreams.

an old client of mine which I developed a website for (no seo by me) started to want an seo company... I told him to use me as his agent and I 'll figure out if he's choosing a good seo company... he didn't listen on several occasions... he got tied into a year contract.. paying £800 per month and didn't receive anything... it was shocking how many ripped him off.

I managed to get him out of the contract by contacting them and telling them that I would defend him in court bla bla bla and explained to them how I was going to win the case bla bla bla ... anyway they cancelled the contract pretty quick after that.

Tell me which search terms your going for and give me a link to your site. I will give you some good tips.

Good luck mate

I agree with Santino6. That guy loves to hear himself speak but it has no real value.

The best thing to do is your own homework. Google has extensive information on what they like and don't like. All you need to do is read and apply some logic to what they tell you.

lol SkyForum thanks for the insult :)    I give good advice to people who deserve it (good people)  are you one of those? lol don't bother replying to that silly question ...   oh keep reading the google manual, but remember you’re not going to live forever :) .... tick tock tick tock lol

ok you’re right I did go on bit :)

Quote · 9 Mar 2011

oh one tip I can give you Skyforum is add alt="" with the name of the images+id, I looked at townation.com source code and noticed your missing alt ... nice site by the way... keep it up..

another thing.. why not hide photos and other mods on home page, you have quite a lot and it's slowing your main page down.

goto this site gtmetrix.com and paste your url... you might be able to speed it up quite a lot.

anyway good luck, i'm starting to talk too much :)

I'v said this elsewhere here, It's all in the title of your site, and I added the

<h1>Florida Webcams, flirt, chat, with girls, guys, singles and more!</h1>

to my _header.html.

All search optimization sites recommend the header tag, so I added it about two weeks ago..

It is working for me, you guys should try it for a while..

my site is showing above the actual ads on ask.com, not sure how long the position will be but I'm there now.. lol

Title Tag

Title: Florida Webcam Chat, Girls, Flirt, Singles Video Chat |

The title tag contains 180 characters which is too long.

The title tag relevancy to the page content is 100% which is perfect.

Look up Google Webmaster Help Videos about Title Tags

This tag is one of the most important ranking factors in the search engines ranking algorithms, so populating your most important keywords in this tag will dramatically increase the search engine rankings of the page.

Place the most important keywords or keyword phrases at the beginning of the tag and keep your title short,

roughly 10 to 64 characters including spaces. Try to minimize the use of stop words, such as a, an, of, on,

etc., as they consume character count and offer no value.

If you feel that the length is insufficient, then use no more than 70. Over 70 will not contribute any weight

as part of the document.

Avoid including in your title any irrelevant words (not found on the page),because it will weaken the impact on your targeted keywords. It can also trigger spam filters of various search engines.

Meta Description Tag

Meta Description: Florida Webcams, Video Flirt Chat with girls and guys!

The description meta tag contains 55 characters which is excellent.

The description meta tag relevancy to the page content is 100% which is perfect.

Look up Google Webmaster Help Videos about Meta Description Tags

This Meta tag doesn't offer any SEO advantage, but simply provides a brief description of a web page. It is

important that the description clearly describes the purpose of the page, because it's not just for the search

engines results snippets, but primarily for humans to read.

This can provide potential visitors very relevant information that probably will not be displayed in the

snippet otherwise, and can increase the CTR from the search engine results.

Keep all descriptions larger than 50 characters, and no more than 149 characters, including spaces, Google displays 154 characters, but other search engines display even less.

If for some reason you cannot achieve that, at least place the most important information at the beginning of

the first sentence. This will guarantee that both users and search engines will see the most important

information about your page.

Be aware that if you are adding irrelevant words into the description it can possibly trigger search engine

spam filters. Make certain the tag is relevant to the page theme. Avoid adding text that is not found within

the visible text of the page.

To recap: Description meta tags are not made for search engines, they are made for humans. So write a text that sells to convert the searcher into a buyer, and achieve the best 'Return On Your Search Engine

Meta Keywords Tag

Keywords / keyphrases: webcam,network camera,cam,pictures,photos,travel,digital camera,netcam,internet

The keywords meta tag contains 35 keywords / keyphrases which are too many.

The keywords meta tag relevancy to the page content is 100.00% which is perfect.

Look up Google Webmaster Help Video about Meta Keywords Tags

Matt Cutts, Head of Google's Webspam Team explains why Google does not use the keywords meta tag in web rankings.

This Meta tag provides a list of words or phrases about the contents of the Web page. This tag provides some additional text for crawler-based search engines. However because of frequent attempts to abuse their system, most search engines ignore this tag.

None of the major crawler-based search engines provide support for this Meta tag!

Similar to the Meta Description tag, there is a limit in the number of captured characters within the Keywords

Meta tag. Keep the tag to between 4 and 8 keywords or keyword phrases, to separate the different keywords and keyword phases simply place a comma between the terms.

For the search engines that may still take this tag into consideration when determining rankings, move the most important keywords to the beginning to increase their prominence, make sure that the keywords appear at least once in your page content and avoid repetitions to avoid spam penalties.

The keywords contains stop words which are ignored by the most search engines.

Robots Meta Tag

No robots meta directives found.

If you want to prevent search engines from indexing a page, or you want to prevent the alternative description

from the ODP/DMOZ or the Yahoo Directory from being displayed in the search results, the implementation of this tag is necessary.

Page Most Relevant Keywords / Keyphrases

In 2006, Google came up with a new algorithm called "Phrase Rank", which is a process of indexing including identification of phrases and/or related phrases.

That system analyzes the sequences of words and evaluates them as good or bad phrases. Good phrases are the ones that occur quite frequently across the indexed documents or have a distinguished appearance.

Taking this into account, Google possesses a very effective method against manipulation attempts such as with the well known nonsense method "keyword density" or the "dynamically generated" keyword-rich web pages. Having a keyword density which is very high could result in triggering spam filters on a search engine, drastically reducing your chances of getting high rankings.

Be certain that you have structured themes in your content, and that you include a supporting cast of

semantically connected keywords. Reference Google's patent 7,249,121 - Identification of semantic units from within a search query.

These are keywords found on the web page. These are the words which you probably intend to be targeted for in the search engines.

The three lists indicate single words, groups of two words, and groups of three words, respectively. Following the word, or group of words, is the number of times it was found on the page, and the keyword density for that word or phrase.

The links that follow the list items will give search results for the keyword(s) at Google, Yahoo!, and Bing

Search, respectively.

You should consider placing only targeted keywords from this list into your keywords meta tag in order to

achieve 100% relevancy to your page content.
