Running without Ray?

I've installed the dolphin script and I dont think there's anything I really want running on Ray at the moment but I've still got all the various boxes on my homepage.

#1 is there a front page manager that ive not found?

#2 is ray necessary for the running of the site except for the widgets of course?

1) Front page manager - seems it is home page builder (admin panel->builders->page builders).

2) You can disable all links in your site which relate to Ray and normally use Dolphin without it.
