Hi all,
I've tried to get "Add Rows" in Page Builder because it's very useful to have not Columns only, but adding Rows as well. Look at example on my site http://boonexpert.com - on the home page you can see "Photos" block in horizontal row.
So, I made some changes to inc/js/classes/BxDolPageBuilder.js and put the button "Add row" in administration/templates/base/pbuilder_cpanel.html. It works now, but since I'm not big specialist in JS it works a little strange: after row is created and I want to resize/remove/add any column on this page, rows disappears or it recalculates the width of the columns and rows and then broke the page.
You are free to test it and I think a lot of people will appreciate if Dolphin will have this feature.
What do you think guys?

Sweet! I was just saying to myself today "I wish I could organize both horizontally and vertically!" Way Cool! |
Awe Man! My site is down! Just when I'm in the building mood! Yes, there should definitely be a lot people diggin this! I had just added a column on my homepage today and didn't like the feel of trying to squeeze a row of videos in and have everything else above and below it in wide format.....waste of precious real estate! Hope they get my site up before I have to take another nap.
Awesome Idea!

Btw, don't forget to clean 'cache' directory on your server after installing these files. http://boonexpert.com |
I'll install this in a few minutes. If it works, I won't do anything horrible to you.
Edit: It sort of works, but columns have odd widths. Besides the odd width of rows, that's working. I'm going to send you a free donut through priority mail as both incentive and reward for a job well done.

yeah this would give a face lift to the layout, i seen somewhere boonex guys saying it would take a lot to rewrite the page builder pages for this to work.
Im Voting for this to be DONE in d7

It looks pretty doable, but you can see there's some problems with it. I think it's too late for Dolphin 7, but there shouldn't be any reason why this can't arrive in Dolphin 8. BoonEx Certified Host: Zarconia.net - Fully Supported Shared and Dedicated for Dolphin |
In my post I described these errors:
" It works now, but since I'm not big specialist in JS it works a little strange ..."
I think it will work with Dolphin 8 as well.

Sorry, which page not found? This post for programmers who have ideas about changing page builder script in order to get possibility to create rows.

this still works O.o no improvements..maybe compatiability with d7.0.9?? |
Adrian created this module in the market which can add rows:
http://www.boonex.com/m/Super_HTML_Blocks_Dolphin_7_x_Module
Haven't tried it out yet though...
|
I tried using the Super HTML Blocks module a while back. Like others, I was searching for a way to add page blocks that could spanned more than one column. Super HTML Blocks, while an interesting module, was not able to add a row that spanned more than one column. What I could do was take a block within a column and split that block into a set of "sub"-columns.
There is another post on this topic wherein Deano mentions a CSS trick he's successfully used to display two blocks side-by-side in a single column... but he mentions it'll break if you rearrange blocks using the Page Builder.
I don't know the inner workings of BoonEx Page Builder system so I can only guess they would need to add another template layer that allows for selecting from one of many mixed row/column layouts. No doubt simple to imagine but hard to implement.

I just released small modification that allows to put two blocks side-by-side in the same column http://www.boonex.com/m/double-blocks-in-column
I hope it will make a nice addition to the regular blocks structure.
It uses standard Dolphin page builder.

I have played with this "add row" mod and I have noticed problems with it. I have added a row only to have the blocks in the following columns not align properly; with one block going under the other even though I did not touch the column layouts. This is in Dolphin 7.0.9
It would be great if we could add rows in the page builder. For instance, I want the blog post view to fill the window and have the action buttons in a row above.

problem solved....
Parshank created this module:
http://www.boonex.com/forums/?action=goto&my_threads=1#topic/Block-that-spans-2-columns-.htm
It creates a page wide column no matter how many columns you have on any page.... It is frickin awsome, easy to use and even adds an "add full column" button into pagebuilder.
Hope it helps ; )

Hi,
First of all, did you see my little modification here http://www.boonex.com/m/double-blocks-in-column ?
http://boonexpert.com |
yeah... but when block are put sise by side in one column they are the same width?
using a single column to span a page means that the columns and blocks below can all be any different widths......

Hi,

I did and I purchased the mod and I am using it to help change the blog post view page. I have the actions block at the top set to half the column (set by the mod to the CSS which can be changed of course) with the blog post itself filling the column width below the actions block. Works like a charm. Before your mod, there was no way to fit the actions block in and have the blog post full width of the column. I remove the left column and left positioned the actions block and left the blog post part sett to the default.

hi!
I installed the file on my D7 and the button appears, yes, but nothing happened when click it!
I mean, no row appears. Anything wrong? Anything I miss to do?
Thanks!

Now I have more advanced module called Mouse Block Designer, you can design your page just with mouse by dragging and resizing any block. Check it out http://www.boonex.com/m/mouse-block-designer-for-boonex-dolphin
