Read users messages

Hi,

Having read other posts on this i know this is a very unpopular subject but i feel that the only way to tackle spammers is to do this with user you suspect as spamming! is there anyway you can read a particular users messages sent? I understand this is a bit of a grey area but as other sites seem to do this i can not see where the harlm is?

it is indeed possible ... You can see sent mail via Database!   I'm not sure where at this moment but I will update this thread again with how and where to look ... Watch this space!

Also Deanos tools allow you to login to any users account and check whatever you wish!

I don't really like to check up on users and invade personal information's / space BUT I know under certain circumstances  admins sometimes need to ...

There is also a module in the Market that will get all site emails sent to your inbox.  You might want to create a special account to handle this flood of emails.  There is also a module; or maybe it is part of this module; (and may also work with the unallowed list that is part of Dolphin) that will not allow certain terms to be used.

As for getting all site emails, I am not sure about.  You may want to go AntonLV's way and only get the ones that might contain spam.  Getting all site emails on a very active site would probably mean doing nothing but reading emails.  If you really wanted to do that; you could probably hack the internal emailer to include you as a recipient.

Thanks for everyones help, I have purchased the mentioned Mod scamnet but struggleing to install, i have uploaded it and it is showing Tools.......Modules as an uninstalled Mod but when i click install i get this message at the top of the screen "Cannot install module from "aqb/scamnet/" directory Failed", i have attached pics, can anyone assist?

First of all, AntonLV is a very good developer to work with; so drop a message to him.  It might take a bit of time for him to answer due to different time zones and such but he will answer.

I would check to make sure the permissions are correct.  You might want to start over and try again.

Sorted it now, great mod although i think the installation instructions could be a little more clear!
