Ray in a non-Dolphin site

Can i install Ray widgets (assume all is well, RMS etc),

then just use/address the widgets from my own site (whatever t is)??

if so,

any tips on how to call the functions?

at one point i think i have seen implementation of stand alone Ray on two sites. i think tallyplayer or dolphin_jay may have been the ones that done that work.

well here i go.......

doing the RMS install on a mac os 10.5.6

seemed ok as per instructions,

had some worries about the $PATH working,

( i run this machine as root user and could not find any .profile, .bash_profile file so i dont where the $PATH statements are being read from).

anyhow it seemed to start ok when running ./red5.sh

got lots of output and a final line saying "bootstrap complete"

but terminal did not return to the prompt.... hmmmmmmm

next, to test daemon as per instructions

./run_daemon.sh

no good!..... output said............

./run_daemon.sh: line 6: gawk: command not found

whats that mean??????

next test...

ps ax | grep red5
outputs...

1967 s000  R+     0:00.00 grep red5
not like it should be.....

any guru got any clues?
