RMS settings

Hi Guys,

just in the process of upgrading RC2-RC3  and towards the end there is an instruction to "reenter RMS settings"...what do I need to do here?

Sorry if this is a silly question Embarassed

thanks in advance.

If you had your RMS set on your previous install then you would go to your Admin Panel then to Modules then to Flash Apps and click on settings and put the information back in there...

Hi Badike,

        thanks for quick reply.

No, I didn't have this set up, just installed RC2 when RC3 came out with some bug fixes.

Looks as though I need to install Ray Server to get the flash apps to work but unsure how to do this.

Checking the box 'Use RMS' just generates the error 'unable to connect to RMS' and unchecked, none of the apps work.

Isn't there a Ray plugin in RC3?

any help greatly appreciated.

If you dont have RMS for 7RC3... forget it man... i have 6.1.6 version and working RMS, on those RC don't work same settings...

To get the RMS for RC3 go to this link and download it and install: http://www.boonex.com/unity/blog/entry/Dolphin_7_Hookie_RC3_is_out_2009_12_11

You will now have RMS for RC3.  You need a dedicated or VPM host to do this.  If you have a 6.1.x site already you will not be able to use the Dolphin 7 RMS without killing your widgets on Dolphin 6.

thanks for replies...

Ahh...was using 6.1.6 and all working apart from a few bugs (hence the upgrades)

Hosted on a shared server, so does this mean I have to go back to V6 or change hosts? - using Justhosts, but I'm sure they support Dolphin...think an email to support may be in order

thanks for replies...

You cannot install the RMS package Mauricecano has suggested on a Shared Hosting environment. You would need a VPS or dedicated server as he stated. If your web hosting does not offer RMS for Dolphin, there are some stand-alone RMS packages that you can purchase to use with your D7.

Hi Chris,

             thanks for reply.

What are the standalone packages I would need...and are these o.k for shared hosting accounts?

Kind Regards,

Ken.

Seems some of us have decided to go with JoomByte's RMS. You can purchase a stand along package for just the RMS if you would like. I know their's work with D7. You can check it out in the Ads section and click the tag "hosting".

Many thanks Chris,

                              will take a look.

Isn't there any support at all now for the flash apps...even in 6.1.6?

They used to work, but no longer.

Kind Regards,

Ken.

Skydiver, if you were using Boonex's "free RMS Hosting", then that is no longer available. You will have to either install the RMS offered for D7 (requires VPS or dedicated server) or you purchase a standalone RMS package as stated previously. That is probably why your RMS is no longer working in 6.1.6.

Thanks Chris - looks like I'll have to search for a new host Frown

You don't have to look for another host at all, unless you want to. Just need to find a RMS package that will suit your needs. They normally start around 4.95 /month.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
