RMS on External Host?

I want to have a shared hosting or better plan that will host most the files and then use RMS (might be wrong) for all of the fun stuff like Video, File Sharing, Audio/Video Converting, etc. (FFMPEG.EXE)

Does dolphin allow me to connect to an external server and do streaming that way while the audio files and all other files are hosted on the same domain or do they need to be hosted with/on the RMS server?

Understand?

I just got off the phone with GoDaddy.com they offer the best shared hosting I've seen AND you can run FFMPEG.EXE they'll install it he said. Uploads and everything are ok but he said for live streams and such an external source like dedicated, vpn, or ray media server would be necessary and with them he said about 100 uploads at a time would decrease the site speed but you'd still get fast speeds. I'm switch to GoDaddy and not using the recommended dolphin sites because let's face it... really? lol GoDaddy is trusted I've used them for a long time among about 20 other hosts or more and GreenGeeks and GoDaddy are the top two I've used in my life.

The media server can be on another server. You'll just need to give the proper IP address and ports, as well as have your domain included in the access.dat file.

Maybe a stupid question but... where is the access.dat file?  I did a search on my server and do not find this file.

It's located in the root directory of your media server.
