RMS can't connect

Hi Guys,

I have been trying to set up the ray 3.5.2 for a few days now - everything looks right accorting to the instructions but when I go into admin - I get the message that it can't conect...I am on a dedicated server so I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction on how to set up my own RMS?

Thanks in advance guys

you could be getting a false report there. try your AV chat admin and see if its connecting. i have seen this a few times with 3.5.2.

Even if you are in a Dedicated Server, that doesn't mean your Ray connection will work. You have 2 option..Either install the "Ray Server" on your dedicated server, or get a host which provides a "Ray" connection for you...Hope This Helps..

Hey guys, thanks for the info

I have checked the AV chat admin as you mentioned DosDawg, and that connects fine but when I check the Video Recorder admin it just stays on connecting...

micky did you mean install the "Ray Server" that is downloadable from boonex? if so I have installed this to the server but it don't seem to want to work even after following the instructions in the wiki...am wondering if any of you know about red5 at www.osflash.com and if it will work with the dolpgi software?

Have to say - I am loving dolphin so far but I have gone gray over this last week and my hair is starting to fall out lol..

Cheers for the help so far tho guys!

Okay, you have installed your own RMS, please note that mickyb.  I understand it's really hard for an old man like you to following along with a guy who posts in the first post:

Of course, that would be something new to you, as there is a huge difference between those of us with Ded servers and guys like you that use Free Hosting at Yahoo!

Okay, moving on to the question, you stated that your AV Chat is connecting, thus you can open a Video Chat room by going to yoursite.com/chat.php and you can also open up Video and see yourself in the chat room and others?  If so, then your RMS is working exactly as it should.  The issue with the Video Recorder is different, though it's in the RMS fileso n your server, of course again mickyb wouldn't know this as he can't seem to afford an RMS of his own (don't worry micky, we'll take up a collection to help you get a new pair of socks at least).  Go up to the Trac link at the top of this page and run a search in it for Video Recorder and following the instructions.  This can be an ffmpeg.exe issue, it can be an issue with a bad video got uploaded and now you need to clean out the RMS and so on.  Good luck with it.
