RMS Server Settings.

As it all starts to come back about how many settings there are it is quite a chore indeed.  Once you get these things working you forget about them but today is the wonderful reminder of why it took so long to get all these things working.

So I have a RMS server folder on my main site and I tried to use those settings to connect to the RMS server from the sub-domain but it says it won't connect so do I need to copy that folder to the new sub-domain and once I do that won't it use the same settings as the main account?  I am just confused on why that won't connect up when it's the same IP address...Hmmm

Have you configured your access.dat file with the domain of the site trying to access it?

So I have a RMS server folder on my main site Are you saying you installed RMS server in your sites www folder?

That's wrong, you should have chosen the /opt directory under root.

[edit] or created it's own directory under root to install too. i.e. /rms_server

No I am saying that I already had an RMS server installed on my main site but not on my new site that is under the sub-domain.  I am trying to access that server from the sub-domain.  I did update the access.dat file with a single line addition but it still won't connect and the three ports are open as well:

Note: You need the ports 1935, 1936 and 5080

I have never installed RMS under the site www folder is what I'm saying.

[edit] If your RMS is on your VPS in a folder, no matter the sub domain, it should work.

I have an RMS server setup here at home that all my sites and others use.. no matter the sub domain, it works.

I'll add you to my access.dat and let you test to confirm.

If you would like you can send me the site URL to me PM, unless it's http://www.getglobalexposure.com I added that already.
