RMS Failed

I thought i would post this as it will give a bit humour to the forum

I have a VPS where the techs installed RMS which was working fine, then yesterday it stopped working, so i submitted a ticket to them to see why was wrong and i got this reply back

"If you have cpanel on the vps that had boonex rms then that is the reason it is not working. They cannot both be on the same VPS."

which we all know is not true

excellent answer. so they wanted to sell you another VPS account?

so did you get your RMS going?

Hi no still not working. its been 60 hrs+ since my first ticket, luckily i have RMS on a second server as a backup.

and you comment about another server is true as they sent me this

"We can set you up with another VPS that you can run Boonex on. Will that solve your problems?"

That is ridiculous... Maybe if your VPS doesn't have enough ram but I have setup RMS on virtual servers that use cPanel many times.

Time to get a new host.

now they say

"Terry, please keep in mind the service did not stop working because of anything that we did. You installed cpanel on your VPS which broke boonex. How did we play any part in that?"

i have RMS on another VPS which i had installed as a backup and i make sure my servers have enough ram to cope

So you had Dolphin installed before cPanel?

hwo the VPS techs did it was before i ordered the VPS i gave them the RMS install instructions and asked if they could install this if i ordered, they said yet they would set up a Boonex RMS OS template.

i ordered a VPS and did nothing to it. after 3 days they informed me that they had complated the OS template, all i had to so was go into solusVM and install the OS centOS Boonex RMS and this would be automatically set up, so i did and then they installed CP.

the server itself is not be used to host sites its just to run RMS

Well if the server is only goign to be used for RMS, then I wouldnt install cPanel. So do a reinstall and tell them not to install cPanel.

I would still switch from them, they sound like they aren't too open to helping their customers.

You can run dolphin and RMS on a same VPS without any issues. I think there is some resource problems.

Also, check your server log for any problems.
