I just can't find a straight answer here so far about how to connect to the rms with d7b3.
Let's say someone wanted to tell me to ask my host. I am on a dedicated server, so I am the host. What should I ask myself, and more importantly, where can I find my settings if using WHM or can someone walk me through the commands for ssh?
The rms does not connect to my server ip address with the default ports. Is there another address that I should know about here?
Any help would be great.
Thanks

I have fedore 8 core 2 on my server with cpanel. Tomcat is installed and running with the jre support. Yes, rms is installed in the b7. It now comes standard.
Thanks for any help you are able to provide.

iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 1935 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 5080 -j ACCEPT
this would open the ports needed if your on linux server.....
where ever you have installed the rms you should have to execute the run_daemon.sh if all is properly configured buy editing the red5.sh and run_daemon.sh to show proper path to both rms install in one and javahome in other...

you still have to install the rms server portion on your server.. not default in d7 install |

I don't understand why I would have the options in my admin for rms "Flash Apps" if it is not already installed. Also, I do not know ssh well enough to do what you mentioned. Is there a way to do it through whm?
Thanks

no not through whm, from the sounds of it you dont have the rms server installed on your box, the rms option in flash apps would be if you had puchased rms service from another provider or providing it your self... i e the server install there a walkthrough in the trac on installing it, the new beta version is linked to in unos btea one anouncement. to host it yourself will take quite a bit of ssh and command line editing, otherwise i do believe there are rms providers around here somewhere and that is the easy route to take.....unless you want to get in up to your elbows in linux... |

Okay, well that answers a lot of questions that I had then. Thanks for the help. Do you know of an rms provider that is priced reasonable and won't drop me for high traffic (if it matters)?
