The promo Block *Still* Shoves Images Out Of Bounds
Being as how this is probably the first thing a person notices when they visit a Dolphin powered site, I would think that this would have been fixed or replaced long ago. Apparently not.
I searched for a fix to this and couldn't find it. Does anyone know of one? I like the fader, but this just screams out that a person is visiting an unprofessional & buggy site, whether that is really the case or not.

I think it shows how dynamic and unconformable to the pressures of web standards your site can be.

I just noticed that your title stated that it does this on the initial loading of the page. That's actually not entirely accurate, at least not in IE8. I've had it happen after revisiting the homepage too. Refreshing the page doesn't alway fix the problem either. |

I've only noticed it on initial loading, but I'll add a comment to include this little fact.

There have been several tickets for this in the past. Each one got closed because they couldn't "Reproduce" the problem.
Here's one example: http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/#topic/HUGE-PROMO-IMAGE-BUG.htm
There's obviously a problem, albeit rare.... good luck getting it fixed.
My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
I think the changes that DeeEmm made to your original fix work - as long as one adjusts the width to 994px (his wasn't wide enough)
I did catch the image being pushed out of bounds after I changed this code, but I think it was my browser cache causing it. I have watched that sucker cycle many times since and it seems fixed. Previous to the code change it was happening almost every time so this may have sinched it.
I will update this if it isn't fixed.
Thanks for the link HL.
