Promo Banners visibility

I searched the forum, but found several queries on Hiding the promo Banner block :-)

I'd like to keep the Banners visible permamnetly rather than just before the Login.... I'm building an Alumni network and we have 100s of pics and so it would be wonderful to have these pictures sliding always..

but a few concerns

  • Will it decrease the page load speeds ?
  • is there a limit to the no of pics ?
  • can I show pics that I choose to display ?

Also the transparent band at the bottom of the promo block.... is it possile to hide the Join / Login buttons after a login, but continue showing the band.. I've  some words that's very bonding :-)

any help to an exisiting thread or help page is much appreciated

The Promo Banners i think are already been set by default to stay visible, before and after login. What i think is happening is that, if you are not logged in and click on a banner, you get redirected to the "Join" page, and when you are logged in, you get redirected to your member's page, but the banner are still there on the homepage, so, if you click on the small "Home" icon on the top left corner, you will see them again. You might want to have a look also at Advanced Panel>>Settings>>Advanced Settings>>Other if you want to change the landing's page, once someone click on the banners.

That promo's banner seems to be our pet's hate, ah ahh, i had my issues too with it, after being able to change the text area, i managed to cope with it, now we get along well together You can choose what pics to add or delete from Admin Panel>>Settings>>Basic Settings and look at the bottom of the page, where it says "Promo". If you just want to change the text displaied on it, go to Admin Panel>>Settings>>Languages Settings and on the box where it says Manage Keys>>Filter, write the name of the text you would like to change, in your case, just a "welcome" will do, and clicking return should make it appear, click on edit and write whatever else you like.
