Profile View Tabs & Profile Edit Tabs

I desperately need a Profile Tab module as per Elgg and Oxwall to break my member's profiles in to sections. I paid for  ProfileTabs (expertzkris) but it seems it only creates Tabs in Profile View, but not Profile edit, which is absolutely essential, plus a missing feature Dolphin needs.. I hope I'm wrong about ProfileTabs, but I can't figure it out.

Profile View Tabs & Profile Edit Tabs by scriptologist  look like they may do the job, but the demo site doesn't work, there aren't any screenshots on the product page and scriptologist  hasn't been seen here for two years.

What features are you trying to get from this?

Im not sure what you mean when you say the module by 'expertzkris' only gives profile tabs in profile view and not profile edit?

The module allows you as admin, to create 'tabs' within a page block for all user profiles, then assign other page blocks to show within each tab.

It doesnt allow your site users to create their own tabs if thats what you're looking for.

I don't have the other one.

Although this thread died almost a year ago, I'm reviving it for the benefit of others looking for something similar.

The profiles on my site are quite lengthy and visitors are not always interested in everything they see. Thus I wanted to break my site's profile view into sections or pages if you like: About me, Location, Interests, Etc.

I've been using ExpertKris's Profile View Tabs and they work fine with 7.2.1.

My members can click any of the tabs and instantly see what interests them. No more scrolling though a lengthy list.

The problem is, this great module only works in Profile View (as per it's name). When my members fill in or edit their profiles, they still have to scroll down a lengthy list to find the section they need to add or update.

ExpertKris told me his brother(?) did a core mod for Profile Edit Tabs, but the mod hasn't been updated for 7.2.1. It was very cheap at $8 so I guess he's not interested. I tried it on 7.2.1 and it seems that only two lines need fixing. Unfortunately I'm not the person to do that.

Also, both mods have a completely different look and feel. Here's a photo of the Profile Edit Tab from my test site.

I can live with this if it worked. At present the sub menu appears, but the profile isn't broken up into sections as it should be.

I'm raising this for two reasons:

1. Both Oxwall and Elgg have profile view and profile Edit tabs and I think it would be a great feature for Dolphin. Site owners with shorter profiles should be able to switch the feature off.

2. I need this feature, I've paid over $40 to get view and edit tabs, but the edit tabs haven't been updated. can someone with coding experience have a look at the edit tab core changes for me and see if they can get it working?
