This is the support forum for the Profile Privacy mod.

The Dolphin 7.3 version is now available.

Hey Modzzz,

When I have this module installed (un-installed now), All profiles are marked with no view permission for any guest no matter what I set the profile permission for. Plus when I try to see if there are any setting on the admin side, it come back as page not found.

The module has been updated to fix issues mentioned in the post above. Please re-upload the module files.

There are no settings for this module, so the admin link will now show an empty page.

i have buy the Module now. It don't work for my dolphin 7.3.2 installation. Where are the modifications.

Please elaborate on the exact problem. Are you having a problem installing it ? Are you having a problem changing the privacy setting ? Exactly what problem are you having ?

Is it very difficult to add this function?

The function would be called reciprocity. This means that if a user activates the reciprocity function it will only show its profile to a user if he can also see the profile of the other user.

 I will look into the possibility of adding this feature. Estimated timeline - Middle of December.

Added Reciprocity functionality. This means that if "Member A" activates the reciprocity function, their profile will only be viewable by "Member B" if "Member B" profile is also viewable to "Member A".

Added ability for Admin to enable/disable the ability for members to manage Profile blocks 

Hi there-  I would like my site members to send links to their profiles to non-member guests that would only show blocks that admin decides. I would like guests to see a photo album that the member KNOWS is open to guests viewing, maybe the location map of the member, and tags. I don't want guests to see the member's profile photo (my site requires this be a face pic), I don't want guests to see groups, video albums, other photo albums, timeline, forum posts, or anything else.  So very basic info, and one photo album maybe even called Public Photos.

For the rest of the profile info, I would like every member to be able to see everything else on every member's profile with no option for friends only, recip, etc. No other privacy settings. SO members see all, non-members see very basic (and not the main profile photo) - can I do this with this mod and can someone help me out with the other Dolphin privacy settings? Right now I just took all options off so the only option is Public, but this isn't exactly what I need.

@thebrotherhood - The profile privacy module includes instructions to take away the privilege from members to manage the viewing of blocks. In the page builder section of the Admin Panel, the admin can set the privacy for each Profile block. Presently, there is no option for Admin to set the privacy on Albums. That is something I will have to explore.

I have found a major bug in the module that should be fixed.

For example a user can not access a profile by the restrictions of this, nor should be able to access these url:

profile_info.php

modules/?r=photos/albums/browse/owner/{profileUsername}

modules/?r=videos/albums/browse/owner/{profileUsername}

modules/boonex/blogs/blogs.php?action=show_member_blog&blogOwnerName={profileUsername}|blogs/posts/

@buensumiso - Restricting access to profile_info.php is a valid request but the module does not restrict access to content posted by a member such as Blogs etc. This module strictly deals with access to a Member Profile.

Membership levels do not work with this module, can you confirm it?

I have uninstalled the module and when reinstalling it gives an error because some tables were not deleted. I have already solved it by deleting them manually, but maybe you should check it. Cheers and thank you again.
