Possible htmlpurifier problem. Try this.

Navigate to the following folder.

plugins/htmlpurifier/standalone/HTMLPurifier/DefinitionCache/Serializer

There are 4 folders in here. Make sure all 4 folders are writable. Mode 777 (Mode 755 if php is running as CGI)

Then empty the contents of each of those 4 folders.

Try this:

Join your site as a new user - On the Avatar page (where you crop it) there is a box that says 'Copy to Profile Photos Album'. First off, see if that is checked. If not, make sure it is. Once you have finished uploading the photo, see if displays in the albums block on your profile page.

If not, here are some things to check:

- Do you have all the 'auto-approve' functions enabled for photos ( Admin Panel > Modules> Photos> settings )

- Do you have your site set to manually approve new members?

- Do you have the 'Promotion' membership enabled? (Admin Panel> Settings> Membership Levels)

- Have you checked the permissions for the membership level to make sure 'avatar upload' is enabled? (Admin Panel> Settings> Membership Levels> then click the membership type)

- Can you upload ANY photos as a new member?

Great thank you so much, it finally worked. The:

- 'Copy to Profile Photos Album' was fine

- Do you have all the 'auto-approve' functions enabled for photos ( Admin Panel > Modules> Photos> settings ) was fine

- Do you have your site set to manually approve new members? I set this to manually approve members but I would actually prefer if members approved the email before hand. Does this have to be manually approved?

- Do you have the 'Promotion' membership enabled? (Admin Panel> Settings> Membership Levels) Now here I had everything was disabled and I enabled them all, could this be the issue?

Could you just take some time to explain please for future reference.

Anyway everything works now, Thank you for your help and taking the time. It's people like you that makes this place good.

The Promotion membership level is very limited access and configured to expire in 7 days by default. Basically this would allow someone to join your site and take a "limited" tour of your site before choosing to remain a member (upgrading to a higher membership level) or by un-registering.

Me personally, I do not have the time to approve memberships (especially if I decide to go on vacation so I have mine set to auto-approve. Since the promotion is very limited and expires in 7 days, I do not prefer to keep that on my 'watch' list to make sure the members upgrade either. So for me the best solution is to auto approve and disable promotion.

Yes, I would like to completely disable promotion as the site is free anyway. Will this not cause problems, if not, how can I completely disable, Can I just Delete it completely?

Thank you

To disable promotional membership, just go into Admin Panel> Membership Levels and remove the checkmark from Enable promotional membership. Click Save

This will set all new members to Standard membership level by default.

I've the same problem, when a member join my community, I've no photo uploaded and when the member is selected I've a 404 error.

The same in administration panel when I go to Modules / Photos / Settings, I've a link with m/photos/adminstration/settings which doesn't work.

I read some topics and I've made CHMOD 777 as described in the installation guide without success.

I have the same problem, but I don't want users to be able to make albums or anything, I just want them to be able to have one profile pic which they can change whenever they want. Also I do not have the avatar or photo module installed. Do I need those?
