Had just uploaded the version 1.1.0. It does allows the admin to set the compression level of the background images. :)

Does anyone own this module for v7.0.9?

I'm curious if this is workable as I'm interested in buying this mod.

Any chance you could make the image responsive/ mobile friendly?

I'm looking to allow the image to be full screen as a background image.

Yes, the responsive/mobile friendly feature is a priority of this module at this time.

For the full screen background image, I haven't really thought of that before but maybe I will do it in the near future.
