Privacy settings not working

Hi,

I have a community where privacy is crucial. One of my members just wrote me and said she made her photos only available to contacts and they are showing up on the all members photos page. Even albums that are made private are showing up under photos. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen if I can't fix this fast. I promote amazing privacy settings in my ad copy and members think their photos are private when they are not. I need to fix this asap. I am using 7.0.9.

Thanks

Can you duplicate this? Did you tried by yourself? Maybe this user just made a mistake, i can't believe there is a bug because i tested this very often. If you can reproduce it, give us step by step instructions so we can try to find it out.

This probably ties into the default privacy settings as well.  One must make sure to change the privacy setting before hitting the submit button as it is defaulted to public.  There were a couple of lengthy forum posts on this where we got nowhere and Boonex did not really address the issues we were putting forth; however, that is not unusual for as long as I have been here.

In Boonex Dolphin, there is no privacy setting for photos.  The privacy setting is on the album.  Each photo's privacy setting is inherited from the album setting.  What I am seeing for my members is they just click submit without bother to set anything.  Photos are submitted from FaceSucks with that long 20 characters or more numeral when they could easily rename the photo before hitting submit.  In other words, expect your members to be lazy.

I suggest you create a couple of dummy accounts and create several albums with various privacy settings and then see how they appear on the site.  It is easy enough to check to see if the problem is code or members.
