Is it possible to control who can see a members contact information and email? Specifically I want most of the members' profile to remain public but certain information such as email to remain private. Thanks in advance.

Short answer - yes

Long answer -

AFAIK emails are not public - they are only visible to admins, or by using the 'get email' function on the profile page (if enabled). Who can view them, can be globally set by admins in the Fields builder section of the admin panel - along with the other profile fields.

Users have control over who can view their posted information in the Dashboard > Privacy settings section, but this control is fairly general and does not extend to profile fields.

So for profile fields - admins can change permissions but users cannot
