I have a couple of forum topics on this whole privacy thing. Supposedly, that is set in the database and there is no admin way. However, I have also seen some hard coded selects that are set to "Public" by default but is suppose to also look at the database. My problem is that people don't change it and will post inappropriate photos as public. Geeks, making the world a better place |
Yes and maybe set privacy to "friends"? So everything he posts is only visible to his / her friends...

Where and how can i edit that the default privacy level is set to "Public" incept of "Me Only"? If you have only one album for all images, then you just need to change privacy of this album. It can be done via Album View page -> Main block -> Edit Album tab -> "Allow viewing album to" field. Currently it should have "Me Only" and you need to change it to "Public". Yes, but in that case every member needs to do that. We want for the ease of use that it's always on public / friends, and if he / she want to change it to me only he can do that in his own album... |

We want for the ease of use that it's always on public / friends, and if he / she want to change it to me only he can do that in his own album... By default privacy for "[member nickname]'s photos" albums is set to Public if the first profile photo was uploaded via Photos module. But if you used Avatar module or Upload Thumbnail field in Join form then this album will be created with Me Only privacy group. I have the same problem as well. if someone upload photo by using the dolphin default upload photo.. all the photo will go to only me. even when I put the setting to Public. How to change that to Public or Friends. This is a social network or dating site. Why Only Me Option even there??? |
Indeed! "Only me" comes handy if someone doesn't want to share anything, but it's a dating site / social network so people must have to easily share their photo's and video's without first changing privacy settings. |

On my website profile pictures are for friends only but the rest of albums are public. So users have option to make them public or private. Video albums are public cause most of the videos shared are already public.
