I am having a problem with receiving "Empty" blocks for feeds?  Here is a feed I started with:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/Behindmlm

Above is the RSS feed for behind mlm.  When I put that in the RSS Feed URL under feed entries admin, the feed itself comes up empty.  I go to my login and click the feed but it comes up empty.  If I put that same feed into a normal rss feed block it comes up.

Ok, Behind MLM is coming in now.  But the below google is not.

For Googles Webmaster Central Blog RSS:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/amDG

https://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss (Also doesnt seem to work)

Above is the actual XML and it doesnt work.

What am I doing wrong?  Do I need to wait an hour for it to fetch?  Doesnt it initially get the feed instantly?

@make1c - The feed performs an import nightly so you will not see the Feed show up immediately. The imports should show up after the cron job is run in the night.

Ok so feedburner links should work then?

Thanks for your reply.

Update has been made to solve an issue where the presence of emoticons were breaking the import. Re-upload the modules\modzzz\feed\classes folder.

I have a question about maintenance on the feed pages created.  Is there any pruning process within the module?

Or am I left to manually find a pruning process?

In 2 months I have almost 1000 pages created.

@make1c - Please elaborate on how the pruning process should work.

@make1c - Please elaborate on how the pruning process should work.

After a certain amount of time RSS Feed pages are pruned.

Each feed entry can have this feature so the Admin can set the feed to automatically prune messages after the elapsed period of time has gone by (In days).  So a feed can begin pruning after 90 days if that is the set amount of time.

This way the feeds can be individually set for pruning while setting up the feed.  The Admin has a little more control over how many feed pages are created and we dont have years of feeds to deal with.

I agree on the ability to prune rss feed pages after a certain amount of time. Otherwise old items build up and it gets totally out of hand. Stopped using the module because of it. I remember asking about this option when I purchased the module.

The admin would set the amount of time.

Agree on the pruning ability.

Another update, I'd like to see is the popularity filters:  Currently, it displays popular feeds that weren't viewed for the timeframe selected.  For example, when I move the filter to "today" i'm seeing feeds from a few months ago that weren't clicked today.

Alternatively, I'd suggest the following functionality:

All-Time: Displays the most viewed posts (regardless of when the feed was created)

Monthly: Displays the most viewed posts that were created in that month

Weekly: Displays the most viewed posts that were created in that week

Daily: Displays the most viewed posts that were created that day

I really am hoping for a pruning option as I have almost 6,000 messages from just 11 feeds in about 6 months.

Please help, I am drowning in RSS Feed stories.  :)

Version 2.0.3 released. (See patches/version_2.0.3 folder in zip file)

Added pruning functionality. Each feed entry has a new field for number of days before pruning. It can be left blank if no pruning is desired.
