This is the support forum for the Premium Membership Badges mod.

Fixes error that occurs if mod is un-installed.

Looking at picking this mod up. Can you tell me if the badge gets added to the users forum avatar as well?

I would welcome a feature that admin can turn on/off if badge will be used also in forum or not..

The mod has instructions for making changes to  /templates/base/css/common.css . However, if you have a custom template then you may also need to make changes to /templates/your_template/css/common.css (if that file exists in your custom template)

Possible to add in option to allow Icon to appear on the avatar only when user mouse over the avatar?

This is only a suggestion, I'm not a module developer... back up your site then edit the module's install/config.php file to include D 7.0.9 then try to install it again.  I've done this several times with other modules.  

I do not see any email from you. You must be using a very old version of the mod as the latest version is compatible. Download a fresh copy of the mod.

I tried to setup the membership badges but they're not displaying.  

I set the info in the admin and I see the icon images were uploaded to the /images/ folder but I don't see the icon on the avatar nor do I see the code when doing a view source.  I double-checked the installation procedure and the all core file changes appear to be correctly added.  The icons I'm testing with are 16x16 PNG.  

I also noticed that in Admin > Badge > Create Badge ... the "Membership Levels:" dropdown does not show any of the membership levels... yet the Admin > Badge > Manage Badge page shows all the membership levels correctly.

 PM site Admin login and I will take a look.

Thank you for looking into this issue.  It turned out that my site had some custom code that was blocking the icon 'add' feature, provided by the Badge mod, from working correctly... once resolved everything worked fine.

I need to have my badges module reinstalled.  I have been unable to get in contact with your people.  Happy to pay and install fee.  

This module is now updated for Dolphin 7.1

In /templates/base/scripts/BxBaseFunctions.php (If you have custom template, you may also need to make the change to templates/your_template/scripts/BxTemplFunctions.php)

BTW- I haven't got it working in 7.1 at all, so I'm needing to go back over my install.

Not sure if this helps at all, but I had done some customizing on my online Icons on one of my templates....

I had to add in common.css-

div.thumbnail_image img.sys-member-level {
    border:0px;
    background-color: transparent;
    bottom: -10px !important;
    left: -3px !important;
}

Probably could have added this to default.css

At any rate, depending on custom work done already, the icon could have been striked left, right, up, or down and I may not have seen it at all, and would have to make a css change to offset and bring into view maybe?

Membership Badges module is now compatible with Dolphin 7.2 . For those upgrading from Dolphin 7.1, please check the upgrade folder for instructions.

Installation instructions for this module (Dolphin 7.2 version) has been updated.

I am using the built in "EVO" template theme by Boonex in 7.2, and i cant figure where to put the code..

Can you select to have "No" overlay if needed?

Added the ability to turn on/off overlay image. The new option is found in the Admin Settings for the module.

So, I just purchased this module and following through the instructions, where it states to modify inc/classes/BxDolAlbums.php, in version 7.3.3 (which it is marked as compatible) the line to modify isn't the same as the 7.2 instructions.

Your instructions for 7.2 say:
In inc/classes/BxDolAlbums.php

Find :

    return $GLOBALS['MySQL']->lastId();

Replace with :

I've installed using the instructions. The block pages appeared and worked (moved off the pages for now). Unfortunately the overlay icon does not appear to be showing. Can you help please?

There are some file changes that needs to be made. Have you followed the readme.txt and made those changes already ?

Yes, done all of those and double checked.

 Are you using a custom template ? You can either PM me the FTP access so I can check the changes or send me the zipped files with the changes you have made.

Made the changes in the custom template as well. I've already emailed you the ftp and admin details for you to check out.

Just picked up your mod. What I'm looking to do is add a ring around the thumbnail indicating member level. Your mod offers four positions but none "centered" on the image. How can I override and use this option. Also it seems the formatting varies between a couple views of this icon choice.

Attached are screenshots for reference. You'll see I've added a ring image which nearly works in the member view layout. But then the same image is large and cropped off at top left of the profile view.

@neotekcorp - I am not sure what you need can be accomplished by using an image because there are varied sizes of the member thumbnail that are catered for. One image will not fit all. Maybe it may be best to get it customized to change the actual color and thickness of the enclosing circle instead of using an image.

@modzzz - Hmmm. I see that one image seems to be used in two locations as you have a different upload for the "image" used on that profile page (which works well). So which is better, adding a third image resize for the one at top corner of profile or to do a svg color ring as I assume you are thinking.

Also, wouldn't it be possible to just add image size instructions for each location it appears individually, but all using a single image file 

@modzzz - for a little more clarification, I was able to accomplish this (thru Firebug) using size and position attributes.

Also, I think it makes sense this badge element is also displayed around the cover thumbnail (or at least be an option) since its what most will see.

@modzzz - okay I've settled on using a regular image as the mod currently envisions (for now at least until you upgrade and add the abilities I suggested ). A couple things need to be tweaked.

In the current module you resize the icon badge based on the settings provided by the admin. However it only resizes to one size which may be fine for the 1-2 locations the icon overlays but then is much too big for the other location.

Specifically if I size the icon to show well for the member browse blocks (say 20x20 or so) it's great. But that same size attribute is used to display it over the thumbnail of member on the timeline/outlines as well as at the top of the profile page. That size which is perfect for the member browse  now nearly completely covers the thumbnail for the timeline/outline and profile location.

Attached are screenshots for reference. Please let me know your thoughts and also if you are considering improving the mod with the ability to center and image if wanted. By doing this we can set size attributes so the icon and make it appear as a cool ring around the thumbnails depending on where they display.

Lastly, adding that same ability around the profile thumbnail (in the cover) as asked.

Before I purchase this module I need to know if it is possible to have another icon beside the one provided. For instance, if the one provided is on the bottom left, the second one to be on the bottom right. In my case I will use it only for the new members. The reason I ask this is because I need my members to know if the member they see is a new member or old (more than a year). I also want this second icon to disappear (if possible) after the first year of membership. Otherwise, I will have to do it manually when I update/upgrade the subscription of the member.

@galanopd - Yes, another icon could be displayed simultaneously. You would have to get this done as a customization. 

what i did if it helpful is, on my VIP members i displayed a star icon, for standard members I used a transparent icon, there is an icon there but because i made it transparent it doesnt show anything.

I have installed the module and made changes to files very carefully. In Admin it reports that I have version 2.0.5. But after running sqlupdate.php, I do not access "Members" from admin panel and I do not access "browse.php" page. Also I noticed that I am asked to add "<img src="__level_icon_url__" alt="__level_icon_title__" title="__level_icon_title__"   class="sys-online-offline"  style="__orientation__" />" below a line that does not exist, although the line I am asked to add, does exist! Any thoughts?

@galanopd - For a fresh installation you should only follow instructions in readme.txt. As stated in the patch files, patches are only for sites that already have the module installed.

Although nobody has answered so far, I think I have solved the problem. My only problem for the moment is that the 4 files in the "templates" folder DO NOT have the line "<img src="__level_icon_url__" alt="__level_icon_title__" title="__level_icon_title__"   class="sys-member-level"  style="__orientation__" />" as instructed in the patch 2.0.5! Check below

Find :

<img src="__level_icon_url__" alt="__level_icon_title__" title="__level_icon_title__"   class="sys-member-level"  style="__orientation__" />

Just below, Add :

<img src="__level_icon_url__" alt="__level_icon_title__" title="__level_icon_title__"   class="sys-online-offline"  style="__orientation__" />

It seems that it is working even without the line mentioned above but I have noticed that although I change the width and the height of the icon... it does not change.

Any help?

P.S. @ Modzzz but the module I have downloaded yesterday has the version 2.0.4 and 2 patches inside, the 2.0.4 and the 2.0.5. So I followed the instructions of the 2.0.5 patch.
