I have had ZERO issues with any of my modzzz extensions while performing upgrades to the dolphin core. From 7.0.1 on through to 7.0.5 they have not caused me any problems.

These mods are worth every penny, and his support is second to none. You will not be disappointed!

The mods do not make any changes to core files. I will respond later with demo link as I am currently working on some issues with the demo site. This is why I did not respond to your post as yet.

I'm interested in purchasing this mod but I've been waiting for the demo so I can test it out.  How much longer before it's ready?  Also, if they're any members that are using this mod on a live site, I would love to take a look so I can see it in action.

Well, since I haven't heard anything about the demo site I decided to go ahead and purchase the mod.  I figured with all the great reviews, it should work just fine.  I installed the mod into a fresh install of Dolphin 7.0.5 and all seemed to work well until I found that there were a few links on the site itself that gave a database query error.  For example: If you click on the classifieds link in the site stat box on the homepage, it will give this error.  While setting up a classified ad, after choosing a category when I click on continue, I also get the database query error.  There was another location I got the error but I can't find it now.  Anyway, I do hope to get some support right away.  I have today and tomorrow off from work and would love to get as much done on my site as possible.  Here's to hoping!

One more thing!  The install seemed simple but there was one thing I was a little unclear of.  When uploading the modules folder, am I supposed to overwrite the existing modules folder?  You said merge the modules folder in your instructions, wasn't sure if that meant the same thing.  Anyway, when I uploaded the modules folder, I chose yes to all.  Not sure if that was what caused the issue.

My site is intended to be a local site geared only to my city.  So I would like to do a few modifications.  Hopefully you can help me with this or at least direct me to the files that need to be edited.

I basically want to remove any fields that you have to input country, state, or currency.  For example in the Classified info area when your setting up an Ad or the Quick search in the Classified homepage.  I think that's it for now.  Hopefully it won't be to difficult.

I can't seem to find where to manage classified ad types.

If I want to make Hiring and Seeking the only classified types that a user can select when creating an ad, what would I have to do?

If there's an option for this, I couldn't find it. I went in and changed the code to block out the types I didn't want.

In BxClassifiedModule.php, find

around line 441, you'll see the classified types in the array below that line, you can change their arrangement (which is what I needed to do, make "For Sale" display as the first option instead of wanted) or remove whatever you don't want offered as a type.

i am having this same issue

Just tried posting a few ads and I can't seem to get the external video to work.  I tried embedding various YouTube videos using the embed code and also the Url address and none seem to work.  When I view my ad, instead of seeing the video, all I see is the code.  Could you let me know if I'm missing something or if there is an issue with the mod. 

if i sue embed code it will not stay on dbase the field is emtpy if i sue the link it shows the link no embedding.

I have been able to embed video by just inserting the following URL style into the embed video field:

Is that how you are doing it?

The embed field was meant to be global so you can embed from any site. It was not designed to be Youtube specific. See an example of embedding for youtube below :

My site will be only based in the UK, so I don't need the other countries as listed. I would like the only 'default' country to be UK and have the UK cities selectable on a dropdown list. How can this be done?

Also, how can I change the text Enter the City and Country (eg. miramer or miramer,US) ?

As everyone else states, I never have any issues with your mod.

That is, until today. I recently had a site crash. It took several days to get it all back up and running as HFW seriously dropped the ball with server permissions restoring a backup copy for me. So let me start that I am positive this isn't a result of your mod but of that incident.

I was having trouble uploading images to the mod. Turned out to be a cpanel upgrade with a configuration issue. Now I have it working so I did the upgrade to the newest version (2.1.1). Now I can;t get rid of this:

I don't know if it's a missing language key or what but it's driving me crazy.

I also need a modification. The index page stuff is too big. I would like to show very small thumbs with just a link (title) back the item that's for sale. Would like to have a lot of them available on the front page, say 12 or 16? maybe just the small thumb, the title of the item and a very short date in the line. Is this possible?

Still having trouble with the mod Modzzz

I am still getting this error: Do not know what is causing it. I am using the mod heavily in 7.06

Also, I tried to upload some images on a car I was selling. I had eleven images. My site is set to accept up to 25 at a time. At ten images, it threw me out of the editor into another users profile page? Was very weird. 10 images made it into the hidden folder but none of the images were displayed in the actual classified ad.

I tried to find a setting that sets the limit of photos uploaded but did not find one in the settings page for the classified mod. Thanks for your help.

One more question. Is the classified ad mod ok for 7.08 or is there an update coming?

Ok, just tried 10 images instead. Once the images were uploaded, it still tossed me out of the editor into another users profile page (I'm still logged in as me). I went back to the ad and the photos were successful this time. I think if I uploaded only 9, then it would work ok and just redirect me back to the ad page. It's violating some limit somewhere and i can't figure it out.

 I have tried to replicate this but could not. Check other mods on your site to see if you are able to upload the same photos without issues. There are no limitations on number of uploads allowed. Regarding Dolphin 7.0.8, there are no known incompatibility issues.

Nope. I have it set to 25 and have no issues anywhere else. Maybe it's not the amount of photos but the combined size of them from within the mod?

Also, you still haven't answered my question about my original problem. (see photo above). it still exists and I don't know how to fix it.

 I do not see any photo. I think I mentioned before that the photo you are showing does not permit viewing in my country. Take a snapshot and send to my support email.

How can I duplicate the Quick Search block ( _modzzz_classified_block_search ) from Classified Home to Classified Category and Classified Sub-category?

I want to keep the Quick Search in the same position for all 3 pages, similar to http://www.reed.co.uk/ how the orange search block remains the same, despite the drilling-down.

Hello, I have a problem with GoogleMaps:
I set the default country code to Canada (CA).
However, google maps defaults it's search to California instead of Canada, searching by hometown, country code the search string shows Toronto,CA and goes to california. Is there any way to change the search string to {city,country name} (instead of country code)?

 You can search by city,country name.

 You need to get this done as a custom job.

If you have already updated to the latest version, download the mod again and replace the files listed below then go to your admin panel and recompile the language for the module.

I guess I didn't make myself clear - when someone visits the classifieds page, and they are from Canada, they see California on front page, not Canada.

Is the 'add classified' field of CITY on page m/classified/browse/my&modzzz_classified_filter=add_classified matched to the same City field on Prevalues - i.e.the same as on the Join page?

If it is, how can I make this a drop-down menu selector (like I can on Join page) instead of a text field, so to corespond with City of Prevalues?

The field is independent of the Join page. Dolphin does not have city as a drop-down so I am assuming your site is customized. If you have a database of cities, the mod can be adjusted to accommodate a drop-down.

Ok thanks Modzzz, I might be asking you in the new year for a custom job in that regard - it's not something that needs to be done urgently but it is a bit annoying with misspellings of city names without a dropdown list.

We bought this module this week and have to say it works for us. The question I have is how do we put the countries in the order we want? Right now they show up alphabetically. We already set the predefined value in order, but it does not affect the ordering in the Classifieds quick search?

Jerome, are you able to add an RSS listing for recent listings to this mod?  I know that there are RSS listings for particular post, but I need a recent listings.

You were able to do this recently for your blogs mod and as soon as you did it, I bought it immediately.  I will do the same for this mod  if that is possible.

The mod forcefully sorts the Country listing alphabetically. See instructions below to remove the sorting:

Great mod.  Works flawlessly.  Two questions.  There is a place for a Facebook app id and and google APII.   What are those used for.  I can't seem to see how it is not working without them?

Also if the FB app is needed, I think it is FB that ask if you want read or read/write.  If that is FB and not Twitter that ask for that, what should the setting be?  Thanks.

Jerome, I don't know if this is the right thread for this, but it is kind of related.  After I instllaed you classifieds mod which works fine, I   uninstalled the old Boonex ads mod.  I had a member who had an ad in the ads mod, so now when I go to his profile page, I get the following error.

Table 'mysite_dolp963.bx_ads_main' doesn't exist

If I reinstall the ads mod, I do not get the error, but of course your classified mods replaces the ads mod, so I don't need both.  It only happens on his page where he had an ad posted in the old Boonex Ads mod..  Any idea what the problem might be?

 Those items are not needed. They are flagged for removal in the next release.

When I upload images from the editor page, as it finishes, it moves me to another users profile page. Going back to the editor in the classified reveals the images I uploaded do not display but i can find the images in the hidden photo album.

I then uninstalled and reinstalled the mod (BTW, why does this wipe all content from the mod? I lost several ads that already existed>?). After reinstalling the mod, i tried again, same result. Am using Vs 2.12.

I did notice that I can go to the add photos action link from the display page and add photos successfully there.

A couple other things. How come there's no function to grab existing images from the photo albums or to place an image url to display an image hosted somewhere else? Why must they always be uploaded?

Also, why do we have to upload images 1 at a time? I know the dolphin script already supports it and I would like to be able to upload multiple images at once.

RESPONSE : Nothing abormal about this. If you un-install the mod, it removes all database content. This is typical Dolphin functionality and not something specific to this mod.

RESPONSE : The photo upload functionality in the mod is exactly as seen in default dolphin modules (Events, Groups etc). While the suggestions made are nice enhancements that could be considered in future versions, your reference to them as 'severe issues' gives the impression that they are normal dolphin functionalities which have been left off the mod.

As far as the first complaint, I agree it's probably an isolated incident. I did do 3 upgrades all in one night and it's possible something was overlooked. I went from 7.06 to .07 to .08 and finally .09.

I did not mean for the latter comments about the uploading to be considered severe issues. They are just questions. I was just wondering as I thought it would've been easier to just adopt the upload system that already existed. It seems like you reinvented the wheel when a good upload function was already available.

Also, you did not address why we can't just link the ad to an outside image if we want? (embed an image?) That also seems like it would have been easy to implement. Anything that cuts down on the load to the server is always a good thing, isn't it?

Maybe you can give us a pointer on which files to save if we need to r&r the mod? It;s really inconvenient if we have to do that and once I get my membership using the mod frequently, I really don't want to be in a position where I would lose all their data. I understand the thinking that all the other dolphin mods do that but in this case, if someone is paying for ad space and the ad just disappears during an upgrade, someone's gonna be mighty pissed.

I have installed your Premium Classifieds, and it works like a charm on 7.0.9.

I have a multilingual site (2 languages).

I have changed all your language key settings to my native language, and that works fine.

However, as far as I can see, the "Categories" and "Sub-categories" are not multilingual. That is, if I make

new categories in my native language, there will be a mess with English and Norwegian categories sorted alphabetically.

Would it be possible to make the categories and sub-categories as Language Keys ?

I have read your language readme file, and I cannot see how the multilingual functionality could accomplished the way your mod is built today.

I may have missed something, and that there is some way to make categories not be mixed.

 Categories is not language translatable presently. Consideration will be given to this in future releases.

This is a fantastic MOD. I would like, however, to remove the ‘Tags:’ field on the ADD page.  Also, I would like to remove the ‘Privacy Settings’ option at the end of the ADD page.

I simply want the new Ads viewable by public as the default. This was easy to do with the Boonex Ads Mod but I don’t want to screw this Mod up.

You can remove the fields in modules\modzzz\classified\classes\BxClassifiedFormAdd.php.

Also, set the default value of the `allow_view_classified_to` field (found in the modzzz_classified_main table) to 3

When I replace the expected ')' I get the following block added to the page, and I don’t want this shown.

I don’t know where the above block is coming from (it is not in the BxClassifiedFormAdd.php).

 I cannot assist you without seeing exactly what you did. You made a mistake while removing the items.

Yes, I have tried it without deleting that last line, however if I leave the  ‘),’  in place then the following appears on the page in this location:

I found the 'Allow viewing by membership' key in SQL DB in `sys_localization_strings`  but don’t want to delete anything that will trash my site.  

There must be some kind of Privacy injection from some other page that is forcing this selector into the page.

So after all the work editing as per above, I got side tracked by spam attaches from China. Spent the last 2-3- days battling this then returned to my classifieds mod, only to find that the Google map search no longer works. No matter what I search for I get “Seattle(or whatever I search for) Not found". Otherwise, the map works fine, just the search engine is failing.

Any thoughts prior to my attempting to rebuild my last week’s work would be greatly appreciated.

Never mind, I figured it out. I remove all but 2 countries from my DB (thought it would be the easiest way to restrict access to North America). Once I replaced the DB file everything works.

Now I have a new issue I can seem to get my head around. New Ads posted do not show up in any of the block throughout my site. “Recent, featured, etc.” not showing any Ads. Please help.

Only items with 'public' viewing will show.

All Classified blocks are set to view by guest & member. Even when I am logged is as Admin and post an Ad then look for it, it does not appear in the block as I mentioned. The Ad does exist as I can get to them through the categories block, but they just do not appear anywhere else.

Any way to make 'State' a manditory field when submitting Ads?

Is there any way I can install a popup if a member makes an error adding an Ad. I have had some complaints that members do not know why the add page keeps jumping back to the top of the page, no message telling them why.

I made the edits as you provided. The red asterisk appears beside the ‘State’ block now but no error popup if not selected. The language key added as well.  Any ideas?

Hello, is there any way to create a popup window or something to let site members know that they have made an error entering information while posting an Ad.

I would like a note saying “Sorry, you have made an error or missed a field below. Please look for the Red indicator to correct the error.”  Or something like that.

It seems there are a lot of very simple minded people who need their hand held throughout the whole process and need some guidance.

Another problem I am having is the ‘ Package’  feature. Is there any way to remove this from the site. It is very confusing to some many users and if there is an error made they have to start all over again. I don’t need this option as I will be selling membership levels instead, allowing/disallowing photos, featured Ads, etc.

I tried stripping the following form BxClassifiedFormAdd.php but of course it did not work so I am out of ideas here.

I noticed that the package option does not display when logged in as admin. Can this be made to not display for all users?

Very nice mod.

Have only a slight problem. 

Once a photo is loaded for a new classified , this picture goes as well in the Boonex photos mod, which I don't want for this mere reason : my web site is dedicated to motorcycles. If someone is selling an armchair, I don't want to get pictures of this armchair to appear in the main photos mod as well where mostly only bikes pictures are shown.

Is there a way please to avoid this inconvenience ?

Unfortunately, this is part of Dolphin's core functionality and is inherited by any module that uses the Photo feature. You will find the same behavior with every dolphin module (including the default ones  ... groups, events etc).

Hi Modzzz, can this module be adapted so members can add files to a classified listing that can be downloaded upon payment?

Kinda like the store module can, where you can only dload attached files to a product after paypal payment... only thing is the store module is crap! Cant even adjust a price on an item after its listed...!

I have a Premium Store module that I completed sometime ago. I will post it shortly. It may be better if you get that adjusted to your needs. This store mod also allows purchasing with Points or Credits.

I am using the Premium Classifieds mod and would like to allow guest to be able to contact a member regarding an Ad post in the Action block, even though the guest cannot view the profile or post Ads. Is this possible?

 I set everything I could think of to ‘Allow’ in the Membership Levels but still not able to allow guests to send email or other to members regarding their items.

 The Premium Store mod is posted now. It has the ability to change product price after adding it.

In the managing classifieds, is it normal to have avatar thumb instead of photo classified thumb (take a look at the screenshot)? I think it will be more optimized to have the photo thumb like the block "My Classified)

dropdown for categories in admin area will not work or allow to edit ...!
