What about adding a points reward system for users..
ex:
users get points when they add pictures, videos, comments... etc.
what they can do with the points ? exchange them for featured ads... featured sites... buy from store... etc

I agree that, for a true "community" site, members should be encouraged to be active in that community through the earning of points for any and all site activity, which can then be used to send "gifts" to other members, purchase items through the site, etc. The corresponding purchase of such "points", which then becomes a form of virtual currency issued by the site, is a big potential revenue stream for the community owner/operator. If that kind of functionality will be coming in Dolphin 7.1 (and 7.1 will be coming somewhat soon), then we will definitely start using Dolphin (rather than stitching various extensions & plugins together in Joomla). |
