Permalink and other Issues

Hello all,

I installed Dolphin 6.1.4 and I'm having some issues getting permalinks to work. I've searched the forum and ensured I have the correct .htaccess and also tried all the things in this post (http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/#topic/404-Errors-and-PHP-code.htm) to no avail. But the real confusing part is that permalinks work for some and not for others. For example:

If I visit http://mysite/dolphin/blogs/ I get the same page as if I visit http://mysite/dolphin/blogs.php. So it seems that mod_rewrite is installed and working.

However, if I enable the friendly permalinks for groups, that doesn't work. So, I've enabled permalinks on some but not on others and most everything works. The only thing I don't have working is the forum links within a group. I can't get those to work at all.

The only other issue I'm having is with articles. I can get into articles and see the categories but when logged in as a user and not an admin I can't open the categories. I can open the categories when logged in as admin.

Please help, been searching and trying to get all this to work since Saturday (4 days).

Hi, I too am waiting for someone to come along and help. Like Keith, I've been having issues like this. I searched and tried all the suggestions on the forum. My blog permalilnk is not working still. This is too difficult, why must it be so?  I created a test community to show you. www.voiceincolor.com/community.

Anyone???

OK, since some of the permalinks were working and some weren't I had read somewhere about defining a directory in the apache configuration and enabling overrides there. I did that and that fixed all of my issues.

Great! Glad you got it fixed.

Can you post the link to your solution here please to help others with
the same problems.

I couldn't find where I read that. But my configuration is a directory under the web root directory (i.e. http://mysite/dolphin and not just http://mysite). So, in my apache configuration I defined a directory for dolphin and enabled overrides.
