I have dolphin 7.0.2 and the paypal module does not work. I've read lots of topics about problems with the paypal module but no one seems to have a solution. I've also read of a $50 module from expertzzz but I cannot find it, I only find the v6 version and they say their site is just "read only". What is everyone doing about paypal recurring membership payments? How can I get this working?

Check out Martinboi's mod There are none so blind as those that will not see. |
Matinbois mod does look nice. What is the problem with the Dolphin one though?
Doesnt it offer recurring payments? It does allow you to set up membership levels and prices so surely if you set up a 30day it will recur or does it just end after 30days???
Also, in Martinboi's, people are writing that you can set what each different membership level is allowed to do, isnt this also the same with Dolphin???
Any info appreciated as Im just about to launch a membership site and would need recurring payments to work!
Thanks.

Follow up - Ive since purchased martinboi's subscription - paypal mod and it is excellent. Well worth the investment.
Already it has paid for itself on 1 site, have since bought it for another :-)

Doesnt the boonex module work? Back to pulling my hair out! (ouch, ouch, ouch) |
No, the boonex 1 just does single payment, not subscription. |
Thanks for the heads up! I will try to get that worked out! it sure makes it sound like it does! thats too bad! so that will be one more thing to delete!! Back to pulling my hair out! (ouch, ouch, ouch) |
Is this still the case? I mean there is a recurring payment section in the PayPal Payflow area. Do we need to do something to configure it to work correctly with memberships? Also what exactly is "Merchant ID"? Do they mean the Merchant ID or do they mean my email address to login (I am very familiar with API usage on PAyPal, just never heard of anyone asking for a "Merchant Login". Any help would be appreciated (I know this is a VERY old thread, but it's the closest I could find that would fit what I'm looking for). |
Correct, the Boonex solution is a pain in the arse. You will have to pay PayPal a monthly; around $30 USD, fee in order to have recurring payments with the PayPal Payflow module. One may just be as well off getting a regular merchant account and using authorised.net. I tried to help someone set up recurring payments with PayFlow and in the end they said the hell with it and dropped it. Geeks, making the world a better place |
Thanks geek_girl. I guess I'll just stick with it reminding people to renew 7 days before hand. Sucks though, would have much preferred that option. |
