Page not found

When I click on menu items I get the error message "Page not Found". What causes that and how do I fix it?

your permalinks, check your mod_rewrite. is this a new install? check to make sure the .htaccess got transferred to your site. if not you may have to force it up onto the server. there are literally hundreds of posts for this topic.
