PHPBB v VB v ORCA

Anyone moved to PHPBB or VB with Dolphin?

What benefits have you found?

Pros v Cons?

Also, Ive seen there is a basic integration on offer in market, plus a full replacement.

From what I can gather, the basic offers just replacement for standard forum access but not replacing forum access in groups, modules etc...

Does this mean you can run PHPBB / VB in place of standard forum, and still have ORCA running alongside for groups, events, modules? or is it one or the other?

Any sites running these would appreciate a link to look at!

pm if you dont want to post them public...!

Thanks :-)

Did you ever get answers to your questions? I would also like to know if getting sub-forums into Orca would be easier than trying to integrate phpBB & TinyMCE?

no, nothing Im afraid.

A few claims that people can integrate them, never seen a proper working demo though.

Only ever seen one that was basically just an iframe with the forum in it. No member integration!

If you find anything further out, please post here!

That is why my support forum is different. So many more features. I would greatly appreciate added features to our forums here.

I working with a developer in Jordan now to integrate phpbb into Dolphin. Not having the ability to make sub-forums is the only reason I'm going through the hassle and expense of this. Otherwise, I would be quite happy with Orca. From what I've gathered from reading past forums here, that limitation to Orca has been an issue for a long time, which means it probably won't make it on the priority list anytime soon. That's a shame because in most every other respect, it's a decent forum.

Did you ever have any success with that/ I am facing the same problem, and don't want to reinvent the wheel if you've made it happen
