A few questions for you...
Have you, as admin, opened the page Manage Forum and clicked on Compile Language?
Did you setup your forums as Private or Public? I assume "Public".
Have you setup non-members and/or members to have "forum public post" and "forum public read" privileges?

Hi,
Sorry for my late reply. I've just tried your "compile language" click suggestion but fail because nothing happens when I click on it. please take a quick look at attachment for more.
And for the two others:
Did you setup your forums as Private or Public? I assume "Public".
-I think it's Public, as I've set up it as normally, and everyone is able to register at the forum.
Have you setup non-members and/or members to have "forum public post" and "forum public read" privileges?
- I've not done that- but I use Admin account to try to create new Forum Box/Topic so I think the problem is not from there. But I'll try this and will feed back soon.

Interesting... when I clicked on it all the square brackets disappeared... leaving just the English words. Were you logged in as an Admin when you tried? Did you try more than one browser? http://pkforum.dolphinhelp.com |
Hi,
Thank you for your very quick reply, as you can see in the attachment- I used Admin account type. I've tried on Firefox-- I'll try on Chrome and IE - and will feedback soon. I'd send you Admin account and pass via pm. please let me know if you could help.

Actually I'm running out of guesses... other than:
1) flush the cache, and
2) if you're not worried about the content of the forum... try to uninstall and reinstall Orca

Hi,
Before I install a new one, could you look at the attachment and help me answering three questions I've written in the file please.
|
To clear the cache login to Admin and go to Admin Home [/administration/index.php]... under the Dashboard's Clear Cache: click on All.
To uninstall > reinstall Orca go to Admin > Tools > Modules, under Installed Modules check Orca Forum then click on the Uninstall button at the bottom of the boxed in area. Just next to the Uninstall button is the Recompile Language(s) button.

Between uninstalling and reinstalling... clear the cache files. http://pkforum.dolphinhelp.com |
Hi,
I tried clearing the cache but it failed.
I've uninstalled it and re-installed it again, but there is a 404 problem.
Before I used "mysite.com/forum" as the Home landing page of my site, so the Orca Forum path was "mysite.com/forum/forum". Because I worried that this path is not okay for Orca Forum to run so I change "mysite.com" as the home landing page and "mysite.com/forum" as the home of Orca Forum - but when I go to the link it shows 404 error. If I install it on "mysite.com/forum/forum" it won't. please take a quick look at the 404 page: http://nhipcauhonnhan.net/forum/?action=goto&manage_forum=1 -I will keep the link for you to test for about ten minutes- after that I'll continuing fixing the site so the link would be dead!

I see there are several areas of your site not working. Since it's a new site, I'd delete the site and carefully start again... following setup instructions step by step. If you're using a hosting company, ask them to setup the site for you. http://pkforum.dolphinhelp.com |
Hi,
I am installing it on a dedicated server so the won't not much help from the hosting provider.
Could you give me a solid/successful guide on installing Boonex please, I'd try it.

Hi,
Thank you for giving me the link, and please explain a bit for me before I try to install a new one as there are some data (not the Orca Forum) which would be better for me to keep the existing site:
I've uploaded the original .htaccess file and the 404 is gone, but I am getting this message on my site when clicking on Forum Manage.
"Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when safe_mode is enabled or an open_basedir is set in /home/admin/nhipcauhonnhan/inc/utils.inc.php on line 1053
Warning: curl_exec() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/admin/nhipcauhonnhan/inc/utils.inc.php on line 1061"
If I not wrong maybe I wasn't able to install the Curl module when installing Boonex, could you explain a bit more on this, before my next try please.

That's beyond my experience... sorry http://pkforum.dolphinhelp.com |

You either have PHP's safe mode enabled or open_basedir has a value that's causing problems. In either case, both need to be disabled.
