OperaMini doesn't show icons at every your site!

Opera Mini doesn't show icons at every site with Dolphin 7.1.4. It looks like there is no buttons, pagination and etc at site! At demo.boonex same problem too. So if you have many operaMini users at site, be sure that you lost 70% of them.

In my case OperMini users is 12% of total traffic at site and it's approximately ~ 746 users per day. As i see at GoogleAnalitycs and YandexMetrika my BounceRate for such users is 44% and Depth of viewing site for OperaMini users at 300% lower then other Browsers. So i think it is about 70% of losts!!

It is awfull for dating and social network sites - very many users uses OperaMini at mobile devices at job and other places to be online!

My site grow day by day and my losts grow too. And everybody who uses Dolphin as site CMS losts every day too.

Put your money at SMM, SEO, development and lost with Dolphin 12%?

Do something, guys - it's very important!

This is probably because the icons are web fonts. Opera Mini uses Presto, which doesn't see a lot of love these days. Plus, sites are rendered on Opera's servers to save bandwidth, so there's a ton of optimization done before the page is sent back to the browser.

Oh, also, it's Presto. I also see this isn't limited to Dolphin or FontAwesome.

It happens on any website that uses font awesome icons. The fault is with Font awesome.

Font awesome icons are not supported on Opera mobile, Opera mini and some browser versions on android.

You can go though your site and use regular png images instead of font awesome if it's that important to you. It will take some time, but it can be done.

As a note to boonex. Font awesome apparently provides a fix for this here. https://github.com/tatygrassini/Font-Awesome/commit/7bef335b6e8eaadd9374552d188ef4a7fda43847

Not sure how to apply that fix to dolphins files tho as they are not the same as the fix noted above. Perhaps dolphin is using a older version.

Checking the Opera docs, apparently Opera Mini doesn't support the tech for web fonts. It's very lacking for CSS3 in general.

Yes, problem is in using FontAwesom.

Also i think it is better to Boonex make some fixes for Dolphin Templates, than me to change template for using png at my site.

Does Boonex say it is now good for Retina Display and we don't need Opera mini users?

I hope Boonex Team will correct template.. i hope )

Opera, are you kidding me? They're not popular. Nonetheless, according to Wikipedia, Opera were to drop Presto and adopting WebKit earlier this year. Why would Dolphin load several images in sizes. Font Awesome changed that by using a single file loaded different icons and are scaleable. Opera is the one that needs fixing.

Moreover, Dolphin needs to get rid of images for block background, header background, button, and so on in order for site to load faster and reduce data. I have experiment UNI and other templates by removing several images and using CSS3 codes instead. It proves that it loads lightning fast.

Do you mean not popular for you? :) Don't be so limited, my friend ) In Russia and many Europaen Countries it is very popular.

Dolphin should be userfriendly for all users. Boonex can make some changes and use different css for different browsers using PHP or something else. They shouldn't change existing templates for using pictures for all browsers.

I need to repeat, Opera Mini is limited. Do research.

http://www.opera.com/docs/specs/productspecs/

Currently, Opera Mini has more than 80% which are bag of hurts. Lots of features are not supported including Web Fonts. Even HTML5 Audio/Video are not supported. Opera Mini clearly has a lot of catching up to do.

Thank you for understanding.

I think Opera Mini's limited by design. It's not meant to be as powerful as Opera Mobile (which does support most of that stuff (and was a great mobile browser when it was actually developed)), and doesn't do any work on the client side. It's meant for cases where mobile data is limited or expensive, and uses Opera's servers to heavily compress content to save those KBs.
