Offering free membership to select users

Hi. I'm offering paid monthly memberships through paypal on my site, but to get started I want to offer a select few who want to be the first on my site a free membership for a number of months. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

Do you have paid during the join?  Or paid after they join?  If after just do it manually.

your problem is going to be "monthly" i too am fixing to do gold memberships,, but dolphin and paypal together dont allow you to do a monthly recurring payment setup .. prolly gonna have to hit them up for a full year,, or manually do the billing every month

You should look into AntonLV's module http://www.boonex.com/m/Membership_Vouchers it should solve at least one of your issues of giving away free memberships.

As to monthly, why can you not create a 30 day membership and set it up so they are adevised of expiration a few days prior. I am sure there is a mod here to auto pay the membership at end of every 30 days.
