OK, Dolphin is getting a bit frustrating

1. First and MAJOR issue:  Spammers, I get THOUSANDS of them from China, I even put an image i.e. photo as a requirement and these guys still manage to get through? How the heck are they doing that?

2. My site receives approx. 5000 + " Visits " per day some days over 10k, however these are direct visits and the robot visits are NO WHERE near this amount, so with so many visits, what are the chances of Adsense actually making any money?

3.  My domain is www.Cardiologist.co the Cardiologist keyword is searched GLOBALLY approx: 60K times per month, I just cannot seem to put enough keywords in to have it even show up in google with that keyword alone. What am I doing wrong?

4. I'm a software engineer and all, however Anytime I try and view my members from the admin panel, I get a

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 65798144) (tried to allocate 16386013 bytes) in /homepages/31/d358195773/htdocs/test/cardiologist.co/inc/classes/BxDolTemplate.php on line 1274

What gives?

5. Is there a step by step tutorial on optimizing this site COMPLETELY and eliminating Spammers?  I delete Hundreds a day and they still manage to get through!  I've only ever encountered this issue on Boonex, Never on any other site or application.  What are they doing differently that is allowing these guys to get through or even find boonex sites?

6. This site has been up for about 2-3 YEARS now, some keywords display the site, but that's ONLY if you type in some odd combination i.e. xkduekd238dkdi, who the heck does that?

7.  I cannot get this god forsaken Avatar off the image for profiles and just allow to post an uploaded pic?

8.  Facebook login never worked, and still doesn't!

9.  Google Maps, pinpointing location of registered users stopped working, and even when it did, it wasn't accurate!

10. Site Stats for registered users is INCORRECT!

ANY HELP and Step by Step instructions would be greatly appreciated. I don't care if the instructions are a BOOK Length.  I'm seriously just considering selling the domain and site all together.  This is too time consuming and I have other ventures in the pipeline.  Thanks for your help.

Some of these points may only or partially apply to Dolphin 7.1 - I don't have a 7.0 site to check. You're really outdated, and there are many annoying bug and security fixes since then. You should really look into upgrading to the latest version. I can't answer the SEO questions, so hopefully somebody else will.

  1. Make sure the China DNS blacklist is enabled under Admin Panel > Tools > Antispam Tools, and under Settings, the user join behavior is set to "block". You can also try splitting the join form into two or more pages, which can throw some bots off. From the profile fields builder, edit a join form block and select a new page number for it to show on (starts at 0 - the first page). All field items under that block will then show on that page. You may also want to look into Deano's Dolphin Antispam module.
  2. .
  3. .
  4. You've hit PHP's memory_limit. Check under Admin Panel > Tools > Host Tools > phpinfo and post the value for memory_limit. Dolphin needs it to be at least 128M to work properly.
  5. See 1. Make sure all the cache options are enabled under Admin Panel > Tools > Cache > Settings. Also check under Cache Engines to see if a cache engine other than File is available, like APC. The alternative cache engines will offer better performance over the file-based cache.
  6. .
  7. You mean profile photos instead of avatars? Not sure if it's in 7.0, but check under Admin Panel > Settings > Advanced Settings > Profiles, and look for the thumbnail options. If that's not it, please explain what you mean - I'm tired, so excuse the slowness.
  8. Need more information. It may be that older versions of the Facebook Connect module no longer work. The same could be the case for maps.

NathanBosun, thank you for taking the time out to help me.  I'm not quite I completely understand your response to all of Number 1 below, i.e. block enabled and split the form? Could you guide me with some necessary steps? I did go into settings and was able to remove the error from going to members page.

The boonex version I use is 7.0.9 you're right it is out dated, is there an upgrade procedure from current to 7.1.6? or a migration tool?

It also depends on how many core changes you have made to your site as well; you may find a lot of the custom changes disappear.

There are services in the market for upgrading one's site; that might be what you need to consider.  Or, just leave your site at the current version and work on the issues.  The out of memory issue is most likely a hosting issue; I have seen that before on trying to host a Dolphin site on an inadequate host.

That is a good tool for blocking certain countries from your website.  I use that as well as email confirmation and I don't really have much of a spammer issue.  I also broke the join form into two sections and that helps.  Stopping spammers means putting several things in place.

There aren't too many core features, this is all out of the box functionality, just applied the processes and controls to.  Nothing out of the ordinary, the domain itself is a good domain, and as I said the site was down for awhile, so much clutter in the database, I had to delete many things, the hosting is a previous host package when they offered it, offered unlimited space and files, however put a limit on php, the above setting changes suggested, fixed the issue, however reviewing the new version, I'd much rather upgrade to that, noticed there is an upgrade option to the newest at a cost, however no migration tool to do so oneself.  Only a service? So there has to be a tool avail. someplace.  Are you good with SEO on these geekgirl?

The "upgrade service" is someone who is going to run those upgrades for you one at a time. It's the only way.

There is no current migration tool to migrate users and data from a 7.0.x site to a 7.1.x site.  If your site was down for awhile, how many active users do you have?  How much content?  Would it be possible to just build a new site with the current release and invite your users to move over to the new site?

If the upgrade process is too much for you to handle, there are those offering upgrade services in the market.

Just noticed, it is working now?  WTH?  Many spammers are still getting thru somehow, The AntiSpam doesn't seem to do much, never had this issue with any other program.  I do have MANY non spammers in there as well, however it's getting tougher and tougher to manage all the data and distinguish between the two on who's a spammer and who's not.  I require an email confirmation and even then, once they confirm, I manually activate them.  The hosting is thru, 1and1, don't have any other issues with any other sites or ever have, just boonex for some strange reason.
