Not so active for while...

For those asking me questions and/or needing help.

I am not ignoring your request.

Currently trying to get my store open by this Friday 2013-07-19.

I answer all mail late at night and on breaks, currently not able to do server work.

Wish me luck and I'll be back to bother everyone very soon.

Thanks everyone!

Yes, excellent parking and on one of the busiest streets in Jacksonville, average of 300k plus cars a day.

Will also have a PC drop off and repair station going on, 24 hour turn around on PC fixes at flat rate of $79.95.

Would you guys pay for services like that?

I noticed there are a couple of idiot poles next to what appears to be a lamp post or telephone pole. None in front of the building to prevent people from driving their cars through the glass into the store. LOL

A lot of places where i am have them. Usually only put in after someone drives into the building.

Sorry, first thing that popped into my head when i saw them.

I always wanted to open a computer store. Just never could come up with the cash to get anything started.

Good Luck.

Well, lol, when it happens... that will too.

It's a lease so leave that up to the owners, and my insurance. lol

It is the store sign. Funny how it is protected right, and it is heavy iron embedded in concrete.

Go figure.

If it wasn't a 2 hour drive I would come buy something.

That "Thrift Shop" song being a huge hit has got to be good for business also.

Stocking the store like from the TV show, "Storage Wars."

There are auctions all over Jacksonville everyday!

It has always amazed me on what people put in storage and just what "forget" it is there?

What have I gotten into? UGH, so much sorting!

If you get a wild hair up your asses to go do the Storage Wars thing... think twice.

We have bought out three other thrift stores and have ten storage units waiting to come in still!

One storage unit had 50 complete business terminal stations WinXP Pro, LCD, complete systems, cost $150 for unit, they were hidden in the back.

Sounds like a great price to me! The big box stores don't even pretend to be able to match that kind of service, do they - Especially at that price?

My advice...

Take those butcher block knife sets off the shelf or shrink wrap them or something. That's a law suit waiting to happen.  ( little kids running around... )

I worked retail once; every department at some time.  I got put into clothing because I actually cared about doing my job correctly.  Of all the departments, clothing was the hardest to maintain.  It was a constant battle to keep them in order.  I spent a couple of hours one day sorting and folding jeans, getting all the sizes in order to have some jerk come in and trash my work.  I told the "gentleman" that all the jeans were in order and if any size bin was empty it was because we were out of that size.  The jerk ignored me completely and continued to trash my work.  Since the jerk was a customer, I had to stand there and say nothing.

I had to do community service at a non profit resale shop once I worked getting all their electronics in working or and all the computers that the schools had donated up and going and most of the time listed them on Ebay for them cause they got more money that way, even though they were "non profit" they still was out to make as much as they could cause they then used to money to feed the homeless and buy stuff for the kids that were in underfunded schools.. and was prolly the most legit help to the community setup I myself have ever seen run, they actually cared for people and was out to help the less fortunate, they would let homeless people come in and pick out free clothes and send them away with a bag of food even, BUT I SEEN the sickest thing I have personally ever witnessed in my life while I was there,, come to find out when people donate clothes that some people even donate their old underwear, and one would think that stuff like that would be instant trashed but NO.. I was trying to help the lady who ran it go through the donations one day and when she got to the clothes and I seen the underwear i said "we just trash these immediately right?"  .. to which she said "NO WE DO NOT,, we inspect the inside and if they are not TOO BAD we go ahead and put them out for sale" .. I almost puked and refused to "inspect the inside" .... I just walked away and back to the electronics department!

I'm not doing it all! OMG there is no way. I will be doing the same thing like this, just from there.

Funny I called about consignment software, talked to the sales guys, ended up hiring me to work on their SEO.. weird how my jobs come along..

Thanks for the advice Michael. I'll be happy to compensate you if you can help me get back on top for 'consignment software' ;)

I paid a fair amount of $$ to a guy in England who (like many in SEO) claims he has the secret. His explanation is that too many 'bad sites' are linking to our site.

On the other hand of course Cutts and others at Google say there are over 200 components to their algorithm. I'll be curious to see what we can do!
