Not showing.

Hello all.

I uploaded the folder Deanos-tools into the modules folder in the root of mydolphin site. So far so good.
Then I went in as admin, went to tool and modules, but the module is not showing there.

Any ideas?

Your post is in the wrong forum. Most products in the market have their own support forum via a forum link next to the download link in the market entry. That is where support for a specific product should take place so it gets the developers attention as the developer may miss it otherwise. In this case the support forum is located here. http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/Deanos-Tools-Support.htm

Now. As for your issue. Modules will not show up if they are not uploaded to the proper locations.

This is what you stated in your message.

I uploaded the folder Deanos-tools into the modules folder in the root of mydolphin site

However. The instructions specifically state this.

Upload the Modules folder to the root of your dolphin site via FTP.
EXAMPLE: If you installed dolphin in public_html then thats the root.

There is a modules folder in the root of your site already. So if you see that
modules folder, then your in the root of your dolphin site.
Uploading this modules folder to the root of your site adds the contents to the existing
    modules folder.

This indicates to me that the instructions were not followed exactly as stated.

Someone in the boonex community wrote a tutorial on how to upload 3'rd party modules. It was written using my tools as an example. Although it does not follow my exact instructions the procedure still works as it does follow dolphins directory structure. So the tutorial should help you get a better understanding.

Before attempting this again you need to remove what you uploaded as it is not in the proper location.

Okay. The root of my dolphin site is:

xxx.xxx.com/dolph So your saying to upload (using FTP) the folder deanos-tools into xxx.xxx.com/dolph to make it appear?I tried that as well, and it will still not show...

I got confused because there allready was a modules folder.

No.

Look in the zip file you downloaded. Inside the extracted folder will be the install.txt file and a modules folder.

The instructions state to upload that modules folder to the root of your site. It will merge with the existing modules folder. That is also explained in the instructions.

The alternative as shown in the tutorial here http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/TutorialHowToInstallThirdPartyDolphinModules

Is to open the modules folder in the archive and upload the folder named deano into the modules folder on the dolphin site. Either will work, but how you're doing it will not because the folders are not ending up in the proper location on the server.

Okay.

I got it. Sorry bout that Deano. I thought it would generate an error if I tried to upload an allready existing folder. But it did what you said.

Thanks very much for your help!
