Not promoting Dolphin U

I've looked at it, I think it has possibilities and I think it would be a success.

And this is a big if, If I thought it would ever reach completion. I've got a lot of time working with Dolphin 7 and all I ever wanted was it to be completed. Instead, I have a couple years of time, several thousands of dollars in mod investment essentially sitting on the shelf. The only way I could bring it to production was to cut out many of the features that were never completed. Other parts of it, I have muddled up so they kinda sorta work and much of the site actually makes no sense whatsoever.

I suppose if I was a master php programmer, I could have just built my own by now but I'm not and thus the reason I'm even here in the first place.

I'm going to play out my Dolphin 7.4 to a logical conclusion, then move on. I won't be spending another dime in development or added mods for it. I do not believe Dolphin U will ever reach any level of completion and even if it does, it will take so long that we will most likely be taking vacations on Alpha Centauri before it finally falls by the wayside for the next big Alex deal to come down the pike. (Probably Dolphin W for warp drive).

Someone here just recently said "And your site Bill is well developed and functioning". I hate to break the news to that person but my site has not made me one single dime since it's inception. It's so incomplete that I can't figure out a decent way to monetize it. No one is going to buy ad space on a site that is full of dead ends and empty promises of the next cool thing.....

I mean really, f___ this nonsense.....

I think the main question is will we promote Dolphin Pro?

Ok, so let me get this straight. So many people slammed Alex about the name "Classic" that now it's going to be "Pro"? Pro what? Is that because you have to be a PHP Pro to ever be able to finish it into a production model product?

Alex, are you or are you not going to give us a finished Dolphin 7 product?

Actually, no.  We slammed the naming of the new platform Dolphin U.  So, since Andrew can not admit that he made have been wrong on the name, he changed the name of Dolphin from Classic to Pro.  So the current shipping product Dolphin 7.1.4 is going to be renamed to Dolphin Pro with the next release which will be 7.2 beta.  Unfortunately, Dolphin U will still be called Dolphin U.

Skyforum have a point...

Some guys (me to) pay a lot to have a good website.
Al these changes (if we must repay agin) is not good.

Also not for credibility of Boonex...

I have 7.4 now, i don't want to change....
I want that what i have is the best, and if it' not... It must be the best soon or later. 

Dolphin7 = Dolphin Classic = Dolphin Pro

Dolphin 8 = Dolphin U

I think that we should promote both!! So much in fact that we can hire more developers to help Alex and build an even better platform!!! A platform that will make you money and be able to sell it if you want too and retire and live like a king!!

I’ve been a member to this great community for years, I am glad to see some folks are being up front & speaking the truth today.  I just can’t agree more with what SkyForum is saying, he laid it out perfectly. My hat’s off to SkyForum !  Boonex now reminds me of Microsoft at the time when they launched Windows 3.1. After that they kept coming out with all kind of names and the nonsense to play with people’s heads. It is called Marketing Strategy which is one of the ways for them to keep harvesting more money and get rich and rich from adding some features and changing the names of the product to make it look all things to all people. That is the perception we’ve been getting from this giant company called Microsoft so Mr. Bill Gate can retire early on his multi-million Yacht and leave his big jungle behind him for the monkeys to play more games in hopes they also find new ways to harvest more money..  

Well, what goes around comes around, Linux came out and ate MS lunch, and not to mention Apple as well that came out of nowhere with some cool products and kept MS wondering what to do to compete with them.  That’s what happens when you are not honest with your community. Can anyone tell me what is possibly the next move for MS now other than buying out other companies so they can survive ?

Hence, this is Deja-Vu !  This is what Boonex is doing today. We’ve all seen this mumbo jumbo about Dolphin7, next thing they called it Dolphin Classic, later Dolohin Pro or 8, and now Dolphin U – I feel like I just visited Jurassic Park, and now I see Dinosaurs are about to eat me alive.

Why all these confusions ? What is wrong with being SIMPLE ?  Can Boonex give us an honest answer w/o dancing around trying to please us. Some of us can get fooled, but you can’t fool all of us.

Lastly, I am afraid I am going to use SkyForum statement: What the f___ is Dolphin Pro? f___ this nonsense.....

No Trident-related promotion is going to be happening here at boonex.com for nrecovers, so as not to divert attention from Dolphin. Also we plan a number of version updated for Dolphin, in relatively small iterations but rather frequently. We understand how Trident development sucked away a lot of time and interest. We will be reversing this shortly.

Free Dolphin Pro = Folphin

Paid Dolphin Pro = Polphin

Free Trident Dolphin = Tolphin

Paid Trident Dolphin = Dolphin

With this new naming scheme everything should be really easy!

What a mess. Licences decrease in sales you just change the name and start over on a new site with a new name and new licenses. Instead of making the product for the better 

Incorrect. The site (boonex.com) and the product (Dolphin) are not going anywhere. They're staying here and Dolphin is back to active development. Trident has been in development for years, while giving back ideas that helped us to improve Dolphin. Now we are ready to release Trident itself, but it is rather different from Dolphin and we plan to continue developing Dolphin and also continue borrowing best ideas from Trident to improve it. People get confused with two products, however. So, we decided to remove Trident from Boonex.com to avoid confusion and remove that "next version" syndrome that hinders activity both at Market and at Boonex in general. Basically, the good news for you is that we're nearly finished with the project that pulled us away from Dolphin for a good while. 

So this means 7.2 is coming soon ?

Whats its starting to sound like is that Trident will become independent from Dolphin making it another money maker that we will not get FREE upgrades to .    That's my Question    DO we all get FREE upgrades to Trident still ??????

Yes. That's the plan.

 Yes, still the same, as promised. All current Dolphin license holders are getting free access to BoonEx-made paid Trident apps. I would not call it an "upgrade" though, since Trident is different from Dolphin and Dolphin will evolve on it's own. One way to see what Trident is in relation to Dolphin is a testing platform that tries features and core solutions before they are brought to Dolphin. 

I can't stop laughing out loud ! I quit boonex 5 years ago and back 4 or 5 days ago And it still the same , nothing changed but just announcing another money making product ! Man i'll tell you something you did suck every penny from those people  and now are you planning to suck their blood ?

The nerve of some people.... trying to come up with a money making product.   It's about time Boonex gives us a money vampire of a product that sucks every last penny out of their development funds and puts them in financial ruin.

How about you trying to hire someone to write a social networking platform from nothing and see how much it ends up costing you; both in money and how long it will take.  Even with purchasing the current licensing there is just no comparison.

It just never end ! That's all ... not sure if there's luck on developers behind boonex , or is it just the way it is !

Personally i like the software , i find it cool for some reason , different , the support from the community is amazing , but i think there's something missing somewhere , no one yet manage to figure it out .

I'm not a developer to try and hire someone to do what ever you asking for GeekGirl.
