Not able to create Topics

Hello - I have installed dolphin and enabled orca.  I have created all of my groups within orca - however, there is now no way to create any "new" topics?

All I have is the ability to "search" - I cannot post any new topics.  I am logged in as admin.

HELP!!  Please???

Hi,

You first create Forums, then you create Groups, and then within the groups you can create new topics and actually write a post.

Cheers

donm1021,

You may have figured this out by now, but I'll post for the benefit of others new to Dolphin and Orca (like me).

'avhow' provided the answer, but here's a little more detailed explanation on how you setup the community level forums.  I had to puzzle over the setup for a bit, so hopefully this explanation will be helpful for others.

  1. From your admin panel, select plugins.
  2. Select 'Orca Forum'
  3. Next to the 'Forums Index' heading, there are several links.  Click 'Manage Forum'
  4. Click the 'New Group' button over to the right to create one or more forum groups.  Here's what you may be missing ... these are just forum categories, the actual forums go inside these categores.
  5. Once you create a group/category, you'll see 5 buttons over to the right for each group.  Edit, Delete, Create forum, Move up, Move down.
  6. That 3rd button/icon from the left (an open folder icon) is probably the step you were missing.  Click this button to create a new forum within the group/category.
  7. Once you create the actual forums in step 6, then head over to your main site (you can access in place from the admin panel as well), select 'Forums' from the top menu, select the forum group/category from the 'Forum Index', and you'll see the forum(s) you created display below the category.  Click on the forum and you'll see the 'New Topic' button for entering posts.

Pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it.  But it didn't immediately jump out at me either.

Hope that helps.
