No off switch for TinyMCE HTML blocks in admin?

I don't see a way to turn off TinyMCE editor in the backend/admin when adding an HTML block to a page.  I thought I remember there being a switch for this.  TinyMCE will strip certain things even if HTMLpurifier isn't called from the backend when adding content.  There are times when the TinyMCE editor needs to be switched off.

I may not be hearing you correctly, but out of curiosity I did this:

I used a text block instead and let it know the content was html:

<html>

<p><em><strong>This is a test</strong></em></p>

</html>

It worked fine and maybe it will get you off the hook.

That's correct. HTML block uses TinyMCE. For plain text or HTML/JS, use a Text block. The naming's a bit odd, but it's a legacy thing.

OK, I see now, more of Boonex stupidity.  I went back and pulled up a thread where this was discussed.  See, HTML blocks use to allow you to turn off the editor if you needed to add code.  Just go back and look at earlier versions and  see this thread where we was discussing turning off the editor, https://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/HTML-Block-Issues-in-7-2.htm

There were issues with the state of the editor being remembered when coming back to edit code.  Somewhere along the line, the solution by Boonex was to add a text block and remove the switch to turn off the HTML editor in HTML blocks.  When this was done I don't know; typical Boonex BS here.  One would make an ass out of you and me by assuming that a f-ing text block would output whatever was added as text regardless if it had code markup or not; it is a f-ing text block as by the title.

Boonex has some great coders but when it comes to interface design they are clueless.  The way this is implemented is poor by best.  I guess it works but it is not the way it should have been done.

To be clear to anyone reading this.  There are actually two HTML blocks, one with the TinyMCE editor attached, and one without the TinyMCE editor attached.  The TEXT block is actually a HTML block without the TinyMCE editor attached.

Actually no, it is not a legacy thing at all.  I have a Dolphin 7.1.6 installation that I am working on to upgrade and it does not have a TEXT block at all and I just checked to see.
